I am not sure this comb is exactly what my cat's vet recommended because the tines are wider apart than I thought. The vet recommended fine/medium tines and I thought that was it by looking at the photo before ordering. It's a nice and quality comb although I only used the half with the narrower tines on my cat so far. She loves it and doesn't mind being brushed in the more sensitive area near her rear end. My cat has short, untangled hair so this may not be the ideal one for her. But the comb did brush out some hair and dandruff every time I used on her. I will wait and see if I need to buy another brush with finer tines to finish off the brushing job.11/11/15 - I am giving it 5 star now because I started combing my cat's fur forward and got quite a different result. I was able to comb out more fur on her tail & the rest and she loves it even more. This comb does give good massage and gives her good circulation.

I have 3 dogs with different types of hair. One is a schnoodle with curly hair, one is a Goldendoodle with long wavy thick hair, and one is a Labradoodle with short wavy wiry hair.When I was looking at these types of combs, I almost bought one for half of the price, but due to the reviews, I purchased this dog comb in purple. I'm so glad I did. The dogs don't like the other grooming tools that I've purchased in the past (combs, brushes, rakes, etc.). However, this comb smoothly glides through their different types of hair with them standing there and not having anxiety. I've combed them while dry, wet, and even dirty. It takes care of it all. It's also beautiful and cleans up well.I love it and so do the dogs.It even comes nicely packaged with a little thank you note.

I had lost one of my dogs combs and wanted a replacement for my little Maltese. I wanted to find a comb with well rounded tips hoping it would be more gentle on her delicate skin. The comb needs to get all the way down to the base of her hair/fur to keep her free from mats. The teeth on this comb are much gentler. One of her older combs is very scratchy in comparison. When I first took it out of the box I thought it was heavy, there's no wonder why, the quality is superior. It's really pretty too.

I was a little skeptical about this comb, because my cat has always hated to be brushed with a regular cat brush, Why would this be different? But she was getting some badly matted patches, I didn't want to pay for professional grooming, so I gave it a try. And once she got used to this, she loves it! She will lie peacefully while I comb her, and it does a great job getting out the snarls in her long hair. I did have to cut off the fur clumps that were too big to comb out, but I think now I can keep her fur tangle free.

I thought I would use this comb on my standard poodle (1 1/2 inch coat length), but I use it to clear the hair from my slicker brush -- of which the narrow toothed end does a good job. My personal preference is still a comb I bought on Amazon whose teeth individually rotate (JW Pet Company 5-Inch Gripsoft Rotating Comfort Comb). That comb goes through tangles much more easily than a fixed tooth comb -- with less pulling.

Great comb, very sturdy. I have two large Ragdolls and this comb is very easy to use on their long hair. I've been trying to brush them as much as possible to get them used to being combed and this comb is making it easier. They don't run off. Getting out heavily matted hair is NOT easy but I used this to lift the hair and cut the mats out to make it easier on both of us:)

Have been using the Fearless Alpaca Grooming Comb on my Cocker Spaniel. She doesn't like to be brushed, so we are both "in training." Although I've used this comb less than a month, she seems to tolerate it more than a brush or other combs. It goes through her coat without pulling & her coat looks fluffy. It works well to keep mats in her long ears to a minimum. The comb is durable & easier than others to hold (especially if you have arthritic hands)...well worth the reasonable price. I would recommend this comb to anyone, especially if your pet doesn't like to be brushed. NOTE: If you're looking for a pet parent gift, the comb is packaged nicely in a box...a bit of wrapping paper & you can call it good!!

I love this comb. I have two Coton de Touliers that require constant grooming. This comb has a great weight to it and is well balanced. It's so easy with one hand for me to toggle from end to end using smaller teeth to wider teeth (which are very smooth). Very easy to hold and very well made. Highly recommend this comb.
