The leather cover of this refillable journal is beautiful. It is very rustic looking with thick leather that is REAL leather through and through and not some bonded thin stuff that will scratch and look awful in no time. The paper inside is good quality and can handle a medium nib fountain pen without any bleed through. Best of all, the company offers very affordable refills, so this journal is not throwaway and will only get better with wear as your skin's oil will soften and further tan the leather. I love it. It comes with a pen, but I am a fountain pen lover and wanted something that makes writing in it a joy. This journal delivers on all that.

Purchased this as a gift, though I didn't know it at the time. I really liked how this looked so I purchased several different ones as well as the journal replacement paper. I must say, this was much better quality than I thought it would be. It is very simple and satisfying to look at, sturdy when opening daily, durable to last when carrying around and setting it on things, and giftable. I gave it to my brother and I didn't even need to wrap it because it came in a box! So nice that I bought different ones for several other people. The paper is a little thicker than normal notebook paper and a gel pen does not bleed through. I tend to like medium point, but I know some people like gel pens so thought I would comment on that. Very good quality for yourself or for a gift.

I was so impressed from the moment I saw the box sitting on my doorstep! The cover is what I bought it for hoping it would fit my hobonichi cousin, it fits perfectly! The quality is so good it’s absolutely beautiful and so worth the money I’m sure I will be buying another! Also if you plan to use it with the notebook it comes with it is nice it lays pretty flat and has a nice brown ribbo, also comes with a nice ballpoint pen! I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase!!

Great, high quality leather journal. I love that it is refillable, so I don’t have to be super careful with it which means I actually use it more! I will note that I do not like the pen that comes with it- it writes nicely but is SO heavy that my hand hurts after a sentence. I need to use a different pen.

I like this journal. The cover is beautiful. However, the replaceable journal carbored cover gets kinked in the leather sleeve and takes some adjusting to.close I like that the journal itself can be replaced.

Nice leather cover. Looks good quality for long lasting use. I put some mink oil like I do my leather baseball glove, to deepen the leather color and protect it.
