CD great, DVD not so much.
I love the CD! I a wearing it out! I love the new songs and the quality of the CD. The new additions to the group are making their own place in Celtic Woman as each of their successors have. So still very much a Celtic Woman fan. So you must wonder why I gave this 4 stars. Well, it is the DVD. I listened to the DVD first and I was not impressed at all. With the back drop of a projector screen showing scenes of Ireland while the girls sang new songs, I thought I would be blown away. Yet as I watched, I could not put my finger on it, but I was not surrounded with the awesome sound that I have come to know as Celtic Woman. In spots, I did not think the choreography was up to the usual standards in parts, but that definitely was not the problem. There was something missing and I just could not put my finger on it. I had my wife come and watch the DVD, and she also was not impressed. Even at the beginning of the DVD, where most of the DVDs start with choices at the bottom of the screen which say something like Play, Scene Selection, Audio Settings, etc, this one has the word MENU over in the lower left hand corner that you have to select to get the other choices. However, when you get the other choices, there is no choice for surround sound. It is just Play, Song Selection, and Credits. And the surround sound is what is missing from the DVD. The one thing that I really love about the Celtic Woman sound is when the beautiful voices of the girls are surrounded by the wonderful support of the orchestra. Neither over powers the other and the mix just hugs you and makes you present at the concert. It was just not there in the DVD. However, when I put the CD through my sound system, once again I was surrounded by the awesome sound of Celtic Woman. I put the CD in my car and once again I enjoyed the wonderful sound that is Celtic Woman. The CD is awesome but the DVD not so much. But I would still buy the set, because the show is still good and you can't get to know the personalities of the girls unless you see the show. So sorry that I could not give this 5 stars, but at least now you know why.

With a song in the air, it's goodbye to care
This is my 3rd favorite among the Celtic Woman offerings, after A New Journey and Believe. I have seen them 4 times in concert, including opening night in Nashville for this tour. The ever-evolving lineup leaves Mairead Nesbitt as the only original member still on CD, although my favorite Meav Ni Mhaolchatha served as the Vocal Director and even makes a couple cameos on the DVD special. Susan McFadden exhibits grace and optimism through her stunning soprano. Eabha McMahon's ethereal alto evokes the tranquility of Enya. Most of all, Mairead Carlin has set a new standard for exquisite restraint and vocal clarity, and she quickly became my favorite on this CD not just for her performance, but her song choice as well. I See Fire is by far my favorite.I find that each of the Celtic Woman CD's seems to represent a season for me, and this one- though released in February in the US- bursts forth with the colors and bright mood of summer. It is playful and festive, but also pauses for those moments of poetic Irish longing that we adore so much.Well done, ladies!

New show with some beautiful new music!
I was very excited to see a new show from Celtic Woman, and I was not disappointed! I had not yet heard any of the new vocalists (including Susan), but they were all fantastic, and of course Mairead Nesbitt is always a joy to watch. The show felt very much like the first one did... it felt, to me, that there was a lot more "traditional" type songs and maybe not so many "pop" songs. Perhaps part of it was also, that quite a few of the arrangements, including several of the more modern songs, still possessed an Irish sound that made it feel like a Celtic Woman show- a mix of traditional and modern, with a good understanding of how much of each to incorporate into each song. Don't misunderstand, I have enjoyed all their shows (yes, some more than others...we all have our favorites!), and I am no expert on Irish music, but as someone who enjoys the genre and has enjoyed Celtic Woman since their first DVD was released, this one did have a little different feel to it that I liked. I definitely like it best, personally, when the balance is achieved between the truly traditional music, and the modern music that can fit into a more Irish-like arrangement and become the "Celtic/Irish" take on it, so to speak ("Beyond The Sea" from A New Journey comes to mind as an example; that is a particular favorite of mine, as it is not a song I would've imagined would fit well in a slower, more dreamlike and orchestral setting, but it turned out to be absolutely beautiful!). The product itself arrived nicely and on time. No complaints here!

Angelic voices of Ireland.
Music does not get better than this. Lovely voices and violin. The music sings to my soul and the addition of Éabha and her voice is just magical. If you have ever heard singers who sing in the traditional sean nós style you will recognize this voice and this style. No disappointment in this CD or DVD.

I have loved Celtic Woman since they first came out years ago
I have loved Celtic Woman since they first came out years ago! Their newest CD/DVD Celtic Woman "Destiny" is FANTASTIC! The 3 'new' singers: Susan McFadden, Mairead Carlin and Eabha McMahon, along with Mairead Nesbit the violin/fiddle player who has been with Celtic Woman from the very beginning, was almost like watching the original Celtic Woman singers perform! Meav Ni Mhaolchatha, an original Celtic Woman singer, added her expertise as Vocal Director! She also sang in a few of the songs~~even did a solo on the DVD with the song "Si do Mhaimeo I". I have had this CD/DVD for a couple of months now and I still continue to listen to the CD over & over again (that is, when I get a chance)!! The DVD I don't get as many opportunities to watch. However when I do get a chance to watch and listen to it, I LOVE every second of it!!!! If you are a Celtic Woman fan you will love their new "Destiny" CD/DVD!
