We LOVE infant optics!!
Excellent camera and monitor unit. Takes less than a minute to set up and pair cameras, very easy process. We’ve tried many different brands and this remains our favorite. It’s reliable, does not use WiFi, I can see both my children clearly (so much so I can see them breathing) and the customer service is incredible. They were extremely responsive to my inquiries and went above and beyond for me. We are a loyal customer of infant optics and will continue to use our camera and monitor for many years.

Amazing video quality compared to Non-pro version
I bought this as an emergency last-minute purchase when my InfantOptics DXR-8 (NOT-pro) finally died after 5 years of abuse (I can't tell you how many times that thing fell on the floor). I was really hating the non-pro version, and upgrading to the Pro, I can honestly say I am so impressed and feel like I have missed out on such a quality baby monitor all this time. The difference between the video quality between the DXR-8 and the Pro is huge. The range is much better, as the (non-pro)DXR-8 had really shoddy connection between opposite corners of my 2500 sqft house if we were relaxing downstairs while kiddo was asleep upstairs. I have not had any connection issues with the Pro in any room in my house. The ANR feature works well on single camera mode, but turns off during scan mode (as intended). This is not a dealbreaker for me anyway. I was relieved that the mounting bracket and wide angle lenses were interchangeable with my old non-Pro version, so I didn't need to buy replacements on those. I also appreciate that there is a physical button for the volume instead of having to open the menu for it.My ONLY complaint is that I do use the monitor to talk to my older kid sometimes, and immediately after speaking on it, there is a couple-second gap of time after releasing the microphone button where the monitor is still muted and I can't hear my kid since he always responds immediately. I'm going to have to teach him to pause before responding so I can hear.I've been using this thing for 3 days now and I can't stop staring at the crystal-clear picture of my baby sleeping so peacefully on this baby monitor <3

Great picture, great sound, easy to use, & AWESOME customer service
I had sought out the DXR-8 PRO to use for my baby monitor due to it being a closed-loop system without use of wifi. My siblings and friends have used the older model and had no issues for years, so I knew Infant Optics was a reputable brand. The DXR-8 PRO has a much larger screen, clearer picture, great battery life, and the ANR adjustment is very helpful to filter out ambient noise and hear your child clearly. The signal has great reach (I live in a 4 story townhouse and have no issues wherever I am in my home) and battery life is fantastic. After 1.5 years of use, I had an issue with the system, and the customer service from Infant Optics is QUICK. Emma was my customer support liaison, and she was responsive with troubleshooting, resources, and assistance. She checked even in after my solution which brought me a lot of comfort that someone cared. Overall, cannot recommend this monitor enough (which I do to all my friends having kids)!

Good night vision. Very happy. Love buttons.
I've only had the DXR-8 PRO for a couple days (since Nov 9, 2020), but so far it's great. I suppose it might be possible to get a better picture elsewhere (a wifi based system) but this one is the best I've seen (compared to my old monitor and those of family and friends, none of which are the DXR-8 PRO).I specifically wanted a monitor with better night vision than the old one I had and I'm quite pleased with the night vision on this!We were looking for a non-wifi system as we didn't want to have our baby monitor hooked up to the internet for three reasons: first, the internet isn't the most reliable (mediacom) and I'd hate to lose signal on the monitor simply because the wifi was down; second, security concerns, and third, we hope to move to the country and internet is at a premium there, so the less using it the better.I also really wanted the ability to pan and tilt the camera so that I'd be able to see the whole room, and the ability to talk back (great for when you're trying to work in the kitchen downstairs and your toddler needs reminded to lay down and be quiet). It's cold out so I haven't tested the range outside yet, but I haven't had any issues inside and I haven't popped up the antenna on the monitor once.I love the fact that there're dedicated buttons for the volume (some monitors I considered didn't have this) and the talk back feature (best friend's has talk back but you have to push another button before you can use it). While not something I had to have it's also nice to have the dedicated screen brightness buttons, as I'm used to that from my old monitor. The Active Noise Reduction is nice, I tend to turn it off while my kids are going to sleep as It makes their musical seahorses sound warbled (not the kids) it is designed for blocking out a steady noise (a fan, HVAC, etc.) the music from the seahorses is constant (when they're on) not steady (hope that makes sense). Turning the ANR on/off is easy thanks to the fact that one of the main buttons controls it (buttons are much nicer than menus IMO).I like having the volume light bar (also something I'm accustomed to from my old monitor). I'm also glad that the volume gets loud enough for me to hear it over other things going on (best friend's is too quiet at full volume).I can't speak to the battery life, as I have the monitor plugged in most of the time. It's nice to have two cords for the monitor (it came with two; one plugs into a wall outlet the other a USB) so I don't have to bring to cord with me upstairs/downstairs if I want to plug it in (which I usually do) though it would be nice if the USB cord were a little longer (it's just over three feet in length); The other cord is plenty long. The sleep timer is easily adjusted (1, 3, 5min or off) and pressing any button turns the screen back on (nice in a dark room) and then you press the sleep button to turn the screen back off (or wait on the timer). The whole thing is very easy to set up. I'd say the most difficult thing about setting up the unit was feeding the cord behind a set of shelves so it would be out of the way, though my husband would probably say the mounting of it was (took him maybe 3 minutes to drill a hole put in the anchor and screw and hang the camera) the camera and monitor come already paired (though the instructions on how to do it are included, and it's very simple) so it's really a plug it in, turn it on and you're done system.I like the fact that Infant Optics sells replacement batteries and cords so if someday I feel I need a new battery or cord I can easily get one.I also had the pleasant surprise of being able to extend my warranty for an additional year (there was a card informing me of this in the pouch with the user manual) if I made sure to register my DXR-8 PRO within 7 days. Though hopefully I won't ever need the warranty. All in all I'm very happy with the DXR-8 PRO.
