Doesn't work - Stay away
First let me state that I'm not a n00b to technology. I own my own computer consulting business, and have been in the industry for over twenty years. This device does not work with my HTC EVO from Sprint. The backing fits fine, and the charging station looks awesome with its silver trim and white LED lighting, but it thinks a completely dead battery is charged in 15 minutes and shuts off. It never charges the phone. It's correctly placed on the pad with the magnetic snap, white lights, sounds and all and then shuts off within 15 minutes. It's a neat idea, but completely lacks in execution. Save your money.

Did not work with my HD2
Got it, hooked it up, everything indicated that it was functioning-but my phone didn't acknowledge the voltage coming from the pad. I pulled the back off the phone and verified that voltage was coming off the pins, but it appears that some HD2's won't work. Also, the picture depicted that the back was flush like the OEM back-it wasn't.Thankfully, Amazon's return policies saved the day.

I like it.
Simply replace the battery door with the Powermat door, put your phone on the mat and it does the rest for you. Yes, it's very easy to plug in your phone to charge it but this is an added convenience for people who want the latest tech, just set this up once and that's it.The unit makes a soft sound when the connection is made and there is a magnet to guide the phone to the correct position. A set of white accent lights on two corners of the unit turn on when the phone is being charged and I think adds to the cool factor. The lights are not really bright but if you are sensitive they may be enough to be a distraction in a dark room. Please note that the Powermat door does not connect flush with the phone and DOES make the phone noticeably thicker, but not noticeably heavier. It also has a more textured finish compared to the original smooth surface of the OEM battery door. Please see the above customer images. If you always charge your phone in the same place and want the convenience of being able to just put your phone down and then just pick it up and go then this is for you. I like the the freedom from a cord attached to my phone and am very happy with this tech toy - and the price reduction and free shipping make this a deal too good to pass up.

HD2 charging not a problem
I bought a Powermat for my HD2 about a year ago. This is a very nice system which will save you from the destruction of the USB charger port. I liked the phone so much I bought a backup. I found that the new phone I purchased as a backup would not charge on the Powermat. After a rather lengthy investigation I found, HTC disabled the car charger port that the Powermat cover uses to charge the phone. However, there is a fix. Checkout the post below on the XDA developers forum. HTC removed a component from the phone but this can be fixed by adding a jumper.(This system strips links so in a browser goto...)[...]or you can search for "Android and Powermat" on the XDA forum and go to page 6 or search for post 16745001.PS: comments will be forwarded to my email

Micro USB Breaks
The powermat is convenient, but the one I got broke within a week. The seller sent another one over and that one lasted about a month. I'm back to charging the old way.

Ive used this item for over a month now and have no problems, I would buy this item again for another product if and when I need it.
