Nothing New Here...Thats What Makes This Training System Outstanding
I loved the fact that there was NOTHING new in this fitness manual! I know that this sounds crazy, but I was impressed that the author presented this age old system, with straight forward time tested methods to increase your fitness health. I bought this book thinking that maybe there was something I was missing using my natural "weights" to condition and maintain my fitness level. I am happy to say that I am doing things to maintain my lifestyle.The layout of the book was very logical, and leads the beginner, and seasoned, "bodyweight" practioneer to realize and maintain personal fitness goals.Does this type of exercise training work? Phil Pierce shows proof with the historical evidence from the Roman Legions up to today's Armed Forces.This is the only guide you will need to achieve and maintain personal fitness, with the God given fitness system....Your Own Body!.

Another exercise book
In general the book is a good read. It could help someone who had not worked out very much and it could motivate someone to start a physical fitness program. But for true and continuing results, physical training must be a life style along with proper diet and adequate rest. I feel like the book fell a little short in this area.

Simple, effective training for life!
Fantastic exercises and very helpful concepts, for people of all ages and fitness levels. I’ve been into fitness my whole life, first with weightlifting from an early age, then wrestling, and ultimately martial arts training for the last 34 years. I’m always looking to fine-tune my routine, and simplification has been my goal lately. This by far the simplest, most effective system of training I’ve ever tried, and it presents a great challenge to complete a full workout, with good form. Phil Pierce has designed an elegant and powerful workout, that can be shared by my whole family!

Exercise effectively at home without buying equipment
This book gives detailed advice on how to effectively exercise at home without having to buy equipment. There is also common sense advice about consulting a physician about certain routines, getting enough sleep and water, etc.

Using your body to be fit!
Physical fitness is a multibillion dollar business. Every day we come across a new book / video/ equipment or "secret" for attaining the perfect physique.Many of these programs are just money making gimmicks.They don't work!Phil's book is refreshingly different. He shows you how to use your own body to train for muscle growth.There are lots of photos and illustrations. Very descriptive!I liked reading this book and will follow the exercise program. You should, too!

Body weight training
Great book! I have been into fitness since I was an 18 yo pup. Now I'm 56 and still into fitness. This book gives you easy no excuse step by step directions. It's really nice to see something that's not the newest try me gimmick! Just don't get discouraged after a week and you haven't lost 25lbs. It takes time. It too time to get out of shape or heavy as I like to say so it's going to be the same getting there " time"!

Waste of $3
Don't waste your $3. You can find all the info inside on any fitness or about.com website with better pics and more details on exercises, like what muscles are being worked.
