Confidence Booster on Icy Roads and Paths
These have been a game-changer for me during the winter months. I pull them over my shoes whenever the paths or roads are icy, and they’ve massively increased my confidence while walking. No more slipping or second-guessing each step. They're easy to use—grip really well and stay in place once fitted. The metal spikes are solid, and the overall build quality feels reliable. Lightweight enough to carry in a bag and quick to slip on when the weather turns. Highly recommend if you want a bit of peace of mind in icy conditions.

Good grip but double check the size
A good set of crampons. Have used them in a two hour hike so far and had no issues, all in one piece at the end and good grip throughout. My only issue is I'd say the size guide is slightly off. I was wearing UK size 9.5 boots and still had some slack in the chains wearing a Large. I'd be tempted to get a medium next time for a tighter more comfortable fit.

Surprisingly good
I took these to Switzerland and found they were better than I had dared to hope. Well made, good fit and extremely useful. I used them for hiking in snow and ice and they were perfect. Obviously not to be used for climbing but more than adequate for walking.

They saved the day!
Got these for my partner who used them to complete the AEE Winter Fan Dance 2025 in icy conditions. He’d never used this sort of thing before and although dubious at first, said they were an absolute game changer. He said they were easy to get on (over size 10 men’s boots) and stopped him falling on the ice. They have come back undamaged from first use, even with a 15kg Bergen. Very pleased!

Grips icy pavements like glue
Absolutely amazing …Recent trip to Iceland where the ground conditions were treacherous …could have jogged on the ice ( if I were fit enough )Excellent value…and did the job ..I didn’t fall over and a lot of people did !

In accurate size chart.
I am a size 7 so ordered the medium as recommended by the size chart. I wanted these cleats to wear with my hiking boots. It was very easy to figure out how to attach cleat to boot (instructions included.) It took a lot of effort and stretching of rubber band to get cleat onto boot. However, because of the effort required this could only be achieved by removing my boot. The Velcro strap provided that helps bind cleat and boot together was At least 5 inches too short in length. I tried looping the adjustable strap over the flattest and most narrow pair of shoes I have and still it was too short. The bag provided to carry the cleats in isn’t very practical as it doesn’t have a shoulder strap. After reading some of the other reviews I decided I needed a larger size. The larger size arrived today. Slightly less effort to get the cleats on but same problem with strap. If I decide to keep them I will write another review.

Excellent spikes, proven on slippery icy slopes for us!
These spikes are first class. We recently had a holiday in the highlands and the weather was much colder than we expected. We intended to do the mountail trail at Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve on the Friday but had no winter gear so ordered these on the Monday. They were ready to collect from Gairloch post office on the Wednesday. Off we went on Friday with a pair of these each and we aren't stupid so if it got really bad we had full intent on aborting the hike. Going up was fine just a few small patches off ice, all easily avoided and no need for the spikes. However on the way down areas of the path were 3-4cm thick in ice and it covered areas we couldn't avoid. My other half was dubious as to how effective they would be but we donned them anyway....WOW what an amazin investment they were. It was just like walking on normal rock and we were down in no timeI estimate they saved us a good couple of hours of bum shuffling. Wish we had bought these sooner and can't wait for another oppurtunity to wear them. So much fun!I have included some photos of said ice paths but also some nice photos I took on the day.As for sizing. I wear a ladies size 6 Scarpa 3 season walking boot and the Medium just fits so is nice and snug and didn't budge whilst wearing them. My other half wears a mens size 9.5 Scarpa 3 season walking boot and the XL fit a tad loose but also stayed in place. I really should have ordered the large for him, my error as I had thought he wore a 10.Please note I am not endorsing these as a replacement to full crampons in winter weather hiking, we had wanted to do the corbett near the mountain trail but as we didn't have full winter gear we stuck to the mountain trail.
