Center Tapped Transformer (117VAC -> 24VAC, 1A)

Saved my 49 year old garage door opener from total replacement.

Runs comfortably at its rated load, which is the main thing. Solidly built.The one issue I have with it is that the 120 VAC inputs are on the top of the transformer, which poses more of a shock hazard than is necessary: it's just as easy to wind a transformer like this so that the low-voltage AC outputs are on top, and the high-voltage AC inputs are on the bottom near the mounting tabs. I strongly recommend the use of insulating shrink tubing over the AC inputs. Otherwise, someone sticks their hand too near it when the transformer is energized, they'll get (at least) a very dangerous surprise.

Quality manufacture. Good part. Easy to solder lugs, made of good materials. New, no corrosion or age indications. M

One didn't work at all, and the other burnt out within seconds of connection.

Good product. Works as advertised. Iused it to build an inverter. Voltages on both sides are right on the money!
