I have had this now for almost four months. I spent an insane amount of time researching coffee grinders to replace one that loved the brand but the grinder was simply not performing. Price was not the deciding factor when doing my research.FunctionalityMulti-grind capabilities-I grinder daily for various types of coffee, chemix, slow brew coffee machine, iced coffee and expressoCleaning-easy no inaccessible nooks and cranniesNoise level when grinding-hands down the quietest grinder I have ever boughtCoffee Bean holder-perfect size, not too much that the beans lose their performance. Holds 2 1/4 cups if beans comfortably. Bonus it has an air tight thin but sturdy lid.Asthetics - it sits on my coffee coffee-pleasing to look at not too big and great color optionsCustomer Service reviews-although hoping I would not need to test this but if needed, wanted to know what others were experiencing.- I have not had to use customer service, unable to provide feedback on this.Sturdiness-collection container, device balance-does not shake or rockCollection container size- this is important if you are a grinder as you use, I didn't want to do multiple grinds if making coffee for a group of people. - The size is perfect for my daily usage and group usage and it does have an air tight lid if you have leftover grinds.I was prepared and ready to spend hundreds of dollars on a grinder, for me having really good coffee is important. I decided to try this one and it has performed better then I expected so far.Grinding time was noted in other reviews as long, my experience has been I purposely set the grind time to long, not to heat the beans on average based on my preferences it takes less than sixty seconds to grind, if you want faster you could set it to grind faster. One of the best features is it does not create static grinds. If you have a grinder you know what I am taking about, this is a game changer for me. I replaced a grinder that was not broken and made by a well known reputable company but the static was wasteful and very messy, I simply could not get past it, always cleaning away grinds. The bur does not create residual grinds another bonus.I use this grinder for multiple types of coffee including expresso which has been scrumptious. I would say if you are someone who loves expresso it is as important to use really good quality expresso beans as well as the grind. There were reviews when I was looking that seemed to not meet their expresso expectations, I would say if your primary reason for purchasing is to make expresso, maybe consider an expresso only grinder. It has only been three in a half months of very consistent usage but so far it has exceeded my performance expectations. I will follow up at 6 and 12 months.

Best coffee grinder I've ever owned!
So pleased with this grinder. As other reviews have said, it's very quiet and very clean. My old grinder was loud and made a lot of dust that clung to the ground coffee hopper. The unit is large and solidly built. The controls are intuitive and the morning grind is no longer the chore it once was. I can grind the perfect amount of beans and dump them cleanly into the filter. No more static-clinging coffee dust. Love it!

As Close To Perfect That I've Found
I love my stand mixer and all of the attachments I've gotten from Kitchenaid, so I thought I would give this grinder a try. I have two Capresso grinders that make a mess on the counter, spewing grounds all over and the static is ridiculous, which compounds the issue. The design of the Kitchenaid is perfect, easy to operate, fairly quiet (for a grinder), the capture container has a tight fit so no renagade grounds. Set the machine to match your preferance, and it's a one button push to grind the coffee. The bean hopper removes, so no more draging the machine to the edge of the counter to add beans.I have had this for a week and can find no negative aspects for my uses. As a bonus, it fits the portafilter for our espresso machine. This is just a really nice grinder, and the quality that I expect from Kitchenaid.

Love it--hope it lasts!
After using a 1930s designed Hobart/Kitchenaid A9 grinder for years, a part came loose and it self destructed. I loved that old thing! I set about trying to educate myself to all that had changed in the world of coffee grinders since then and read as many reviews as I could. Almost all of the "best of" (sponsored) sites chose the Baratza Virtuoso and Encore as first and second choices, with the Oxo coming in as the "budget" pick. The burr cleaning procedure on the Baratzas seemed to be a pain...as was my old A9. The Oxo looked fine, but somehow, I was drawn to this Kitchenaid model. My brother in law has the Kitchenaide KCG0702...which is as loud as my old A9 and even more messy to use (I don't mind the mess, but my wife certainly does). When I received this new coffee grinder, I was a little disappointed to find that it was made mainly of plastic as the other two Kitchenaid grinders were metal and glass. Oh, well, so much is made of plastics these days and engineered plastics can be pretty formidable. On to the usage. At first all of the various settings and options seemed a little daunting coming from a grinder where you rotated a ring to select the grind size and a toggle switch to turn it off and on. The manual was very informative, and in use, the grinder is actually quite intuitive. Noise level? Dang, this is the absolute quietest coffee grinder that I have ever heard! The grind consistency is better than most large commercial grinders that I have used (think older supermarkets or Costco/Sam's). The adjustability of the grind and the amount ground is almost infinitely adjustable. The burr cleaning is so easy as to almost be laughable--no tools or contortions required. The thought behind the removing of the hopper automatically closing so not to spill beans on the counter is a very nice touch (wife approves!).All in all, the best grinder I have personally used and I would most certainly buy another of this model. My only hope is that it has a long and happy life!
