7440 992 Chrome Amber Bulb - Pack of 2

Pros- Looks good, gets rid of the "amber" look in you clear housing - Fits like the OEM bulb - its a "Regular" bulb, so it works as a direct replacement. NO HYPERFLASH like LEDS do - When ON, illuminates as AMBERCons- Not as bright as OEM fitted amber bulb or LEDSThese look awesome and clean up the amber tint that the stock bulbs emit when not activated (no power). When turned on, the color is still amber, but since its like putting on mirror tint onto an amber bulb, the lumens are not as bright. Basically they are dimmer but still are functional. I tested them during the day and you can still see them activated, but once again OEM bulbs WILL BE BRIGHTER (OR LEDS but that is another different install). Also, strangely the package said they are LED....but they are not...just regular filament type bulbs.

One of the bulbs themselves didn't fit right. Which is weird since I purchased two sets of two and 3/4 fit fine, I'll try and pick up some electrical tape to try and hold it on as I see that being cheaper option then ordering a new set. The chrome on the bulb does make the the amber light slightly dimmer than OEM making me worry about visibility during the day but nighttime shouldn't be a problem.

Hard to find halogen bulbs these days with LEDS taking over the market. These were just what I was looking for. First picture is product advertised, second is OEM amber bulb for comparison. Perfect for getting rid of the “candy corn” look if you have yellow high beams. Bulbs ARE noticeably dimmer in daylight but at night time this is not an issue.

As with a previous product I ordered and reviewed(194 bulb), the product was not the brand advertised. I received "Diesel" brand, not "Genetic" These bulbs are significantly less bright than OEM. I would give them 20% less bright versus OEM. They do make the car look stylish. I would not recommend if your vehicle has to pass annual vehicle inspections. I'm going to use them regardless; however, I will keep my OEM bulbs stored away.

Have these bulbs on both of my vehicles (370z & Juke) and can't complain. As mentioned above, the only negative so far is the dimmer light when blinking. Installed them making sure no hand grease got on them, have been working fine for at least a year.

I was pleased with the first set so I ordered a second set for the rear. The brightness seems equal to OEM in my 2012 M37. Looks great. As long as they last for a while I'll keep 5 stars.Update 8-11-17: One of the bulbs already blew out in my right rear which means I have to completely remove the taillight assembly again to replace it, which also means removing the trunk trim and carpeting to get to the bolts that hold the housing in place. Reducing to 3 stars for lack of longevity. Only lasted 3 months.Update 8-22-17: Changing to 1 star since the seller doesn't care enough about selling a quality product to even reply when a customer has issue with said product. It's a shame because the bulbs look decent when they are working but if they only last 3 months and the seller doesn't back the product and reply to customers then what's the use.

Don't even try to make this fit as a 7440 bulb. The bulb does not snap into the adapter and fit loosely and just falls out. I lost one bulb that fell into the engine compartment because it just simply does not snap into place no matter how hard you push it down.. The base is too big. I tried other 7440 bulbs and they fit like a charm. Good concept and you must be able to read Chinese for any instructions. Really poorly executed. I purchased GP Thunder products before but never had a issue. Not going to return it because one bulb is somewhere in the engine compartment. Hope this will help someone who is thinking about buying this product. Amazon states that this will fit my car but it sure doesn't fit any car with a 7740 adapter.

Works well enough for my application. Lights could be a smidge brighter, but overall visibility is acceptable. I enjoy the look of not having the Amber color showing though in my head lights.
