Serfas RX Cruiser Bicycle Saddle

Great saddle, easy to install and comfortable.

The Serfas RX Cruiser is the saddle that has finally allowed me to take longer rides in comfort! I've tried just about every Selle Royal saddle and only one of them, the Respiro Relaxed, has come close to being comfortable, but even with that one I would start to really feel it after a couple of hours. For reference, I am a 6'2", 240 lbs. male and ride a a Dutch-style bike in a fully upright position. I also tried the Serfas Hybrid RX but it was just a bit too narrow for me but that is likely due to my riding position. I've put over 100 miles on the Serfas RX Cruiser over the past couple of weeks on my ebike, most which came in 3 long rides of at least 3 hours each and one of which lasted about 4 hours. I finished each of those rides with minimal discomfort and with only taking a few short breaks. I've now gotten to the point where my endurance is limited by my legs rather than my butt. The key, however, is setting the proper height above the pedals for full leg extension and setting the proper angle so that you aren't trying to slide forwards or backwards. If those aren't correct then it won't be as comfortable as it should be as I have discovered. With my preferred fully upright riding position, the saddle is actually angled back quite a bit but it's what works for me so be sure to experiment around to find what works for you. I have only been riding consistently, roughly every weekend, for the past six months or so and am not some kind of endurance rider. But with this saddle I'm now more motivated to want to go out and do longer rides.

Thank you, so much, Serfas Rx! I had bought the Women's Vinyl Serfas Seat (small on left) last year. It was the winner compared to other brands because it had the channel cut through that prevented UTI's. Yay. The same channel is present on the larger Cruiser seat (on the right). The advantage to the Cruiser is that the channel is slightly larger and does NOT come to a point at the end, which offers me much more relief in the delicate region, preventing numbness. Again, thank you, Serfas Rx, for offering options, and consistently having a channel present to prevent UTI's. My friend gifted me her generic spin bike when she upgraded during the Time of Covid, when you couldn't find exercise equipment anywhere or go to the gym. However, over time, day after day, I experienced numbness during the long workouts (55-60 min). It hurt to get up off the seat to power pedal (likely due to the pointed tip of the smaller vinyl seat). With more equipment available now, a year later, I looked on Amazon and found the Serfas Rx Cruiser seat. I've read reviews and we all have different anatomy and sitz bone (ischial tuberosity) placement. The larger & softer seat of the Cruiser fits me better, but of course, your mileage may vary, depending on your own anatomy. I've cut back my time to 52-55 minutes and now have a recumbent bike, to vary my workouts on different days, so pressure is dispersed to different body parts, reducing ... er.... wear and tear on the same places. I highly recommend the brand Serfas Rx! Keep trying different sizes to see what fits your anatomy the best and feels most comfortable. Thank goodness they are wise enough to understand the importance of a channel cut all the way through, as well as offering different sizes for different sized people!
