Shimano RD-6800 pulley on a RD-5700 (105)
This review is for a RD-6800 pulley kit I ordered.I have a RD-5700 (105) SS on a Speck Tarmac SL2 10 Speedx2This kit have sealed bearings on both pulleys. The 5700 does not. So no slop when trying twist the pulley sideways.I measured the thickness of the new pulleys vs. the 5700 with a dial caliper, This seem narrower. This kit is .004 inch narrower than the RD5700 105.There are no instructions that came with the kit. To determine which is the guide pulley(bottom), one of the pulley will have a wedge teeth.Top pulley will not have any wedge on the teeth. Arrows goes to the direction of chain when pedaling.Easy enough to install. REAR wheel off, do one pulley at a time by loosing both pulley bolt, remove bottom first, then do the top last, Or what ever works for someone else. After a few rides, the difference from RD 5700 pullley to this kit is shifting is more spot on. I can't describe it but it more instantaneous. With this stated, definitely a good upgrade. Recommended buy. Better than buying a RD-6700 rear derailler.Cheers!

Broke after 2 months
Sad to report that this part did not last 2 months. I fit perfect and was easy to install but broke during my last ride. Maybe it was bad luck but I have never broken a pulley wheel before.

Great upgrade.
Great upgrade for my 105 rear derailleur.Existing chain, chain rings had worn out after 15, 000 kms. So I replaced all these parts at once including the pulley set and is running better than ever.

revived a squeaky 105 5700 rear derailleur that I couldn't afford to replace. Works like new! This pulley had a better bearing and seal than the original so I should be good for quite a bit.

Spinning just fine
Never been disappointed with the performance of Shimano's Ultegra group. The longevity warrants the extra cost over 105 and unless you're racing I don't feel need for Dura Ace. I replace these at most once a year to keep shifting at it's max.

Half Good
The top ceramic pulley did not spin as well as the bottom sealed bearing pulley. So I replaced my old top pulley with the new bottom pulley with good results. RD shifts better than before.

Good upgrade
These work great! I replaced them on my 105 and there is a big change in the smooth shifting, and quick response. Good upgrade.

First i noticed the pulleys didn't spin free like my old ones did
First i noticed the pulleys didn't spin free like my old ones did. I thought they might ware in, but they would squeal every minute or so. I had to put the old ones back on. I've never had this problem before even with cheaper pulleys. any suggestions?
