This is great for home use if you use a lot of batteries. I bought it primarily for the battery testing facilities as we were having problems with some items [grandkids toys and other "smart home" items. We were changing battery sets frequently so thought I'd get a meter to check the status of each individual battery rather than block change them out. I chose this model from the reviews, the price, and the simple switch for choosing the test function needed. I have only used it for resistance and battery checking to date but it paid for itself within a short time as a relation has a holiday let and routinely has to check batteries for the fire regs. Using the meter allowed faulty cells to be replaced individually, saving money each time. I bought a second one as a gift and left it at the holiday let. Very simple to use and a nice clear display. The associated user manual is small but pretty comprehensive with some real life usage examples. My grandson likes to help with the testing [a clear red or green light depending on the voltage of the battery being tested]. One word of caution - the test leads have a very sharp prong at the end so be careful.

This is just amazingly good 😊 It's easy to use, measuring well and the functions are excellent plus the display light and additional torch feature is superb, as is the mains voltage detection that's so useful finding hidden cables in walls and tracing live circuits. Amazon is great because one can search for something from actual product reviews. I needed a new meter after my old one broke, and was thinking about buying an expensive type as surely a 'cheap' meter would be a waste of money!?? Reading the reviews of people who had bought the expensive ones though and been very disappointed, I decided to go low and check the reviews on the cheaper types which included this. Having read other opinions I decided to buy this one and am so pleased that I did. I'm about to order another one for help in my work fixing vintage gaming and arcade equipment, but just wanted to add to this review, praise for the meter and suggest also if you have any requirements for a meter, then buy and try this! I can certainly thoroughly recommend it 👍 It may be a cheap meter but works incredibly well and didn't cost a fortune. A++++ to the manufacturer! A worthy addition to anyone's toolkit ✔️

A very good multimeter for testing many of the everyday electrical systems and equipment in the home and car. It appears to be well made and on a few checks made on the test bench accurate. It’s easy to get to the batteries to replace them when required, but that doesn’t appear to be the case if one of the fuses get blown. In the instructions it tells you to remove the rubber casing to remove the screws and back, but try as hard as I could I couldn’t get the rubber casing off. I came to the conclusion that the only way I could remove the casing would probably destroy it so I gave up. I’ll just have to try and be ultra careful not to blow the fuses. Apart from that i believe this meter is good value for money.

I found it easy to use this multimeter straightaway. The two AAA batteries were already loaded during packaging up for sale. The instructions are simple and clear. I mainly use a multimeter on low voltage applications rather than above mains voltage or high current. The meter can detect live cables in walls so it should be useful in DIY around the home.

I never really used a multimeter so I do not have any expectations on what to expect. However the RMS4000 seems to be of decent build quality. Some of the features are: 1) household and car battery testing 2) contactless detection of live current in a wall socket 3) voltage, current, capacitance, resistance, continuity and diode testing 4) contact live wire detection Appears to have all the major functions covered for a good price.
