How do i change the declination. no instructions. i’m a beginner. i need to change it to 18 w?

On the front red ring is a small screw between N and E. The red shed or dog house or the one you underlap the North needle, points to 0. If you look in the capsule were it hits the edge under N of the red ring. You take the small screwdriver that comes with the compass and move the small screw till it points to the degrees you want to go to. Right side is West and Left side is East. Each increment is 2 degrees.

Where is the whistle?

no whistle, no light, no clinometer. led light is on the end of the cord, cliometer works well but no whistle came with mine

Why the Declination pointer moves on this compass. It shud be fixed until the screw is rotated?

You adjust it based on the magnetic declination in your area. If you travel to a new location, such as from the east coast to the west coast, then you would need to adjust it. Once you are in an area, you can leave it alone. The product comes with a small screwdriver to adjust it. It’s a little cheap.
