Lightweight and makes good tasting water
I bought this for an all day music festival where there would be free water stations. The water would be city water and I just wanted to filter out any possible chlorine or rust flavors. It worked great. The result doesn't taste as good as my Brita filter at home, but it's very acceptable. To me Brita is comparable to Fiji water, and this is comparable to Crystal Geyser or Poland Spring.I picked this over the Brita water bottle with filter because it's smaller and lighter, and the plastic is slightly flexible. Other reviews have mentioned that the air vent can make a noise when you let go of the bottle after a squeeze. This only happens if the vent is covered by water. Once the bottle is ~25% empty it won't be a problem. When it's very full, you can prevent the noise if you tip the bottle towards vertical before releasing. On the plus side, the air vent allows the bottle to be watertight while the spout is open. If it's tipped over, it doesn't spill.I have one quibble and that's with the cap, in my opinion it doesn't attach securely enough. I can see it sliding off accidentally and getting lost. I may drill a small hole so I can attach it to the thumb loop. For now I'm not using it.This bottle is going to be great for use at water fountains while running errands.

Leaking problem (fixed)
I've written a report on this before and I didn't give it a great score at all. However, I think I've solved the leak problem on my end. You can't just tighten the top down as you would any other bottle out there. I have to tighten it down hard. We have to remind ourselves that this is a squeeze bottle, and the plastic of the body is the same throughout. Therefore, if you do not have it tighten down as hard as you can, it will flex and leak out the top. Don't worry, it seems to take the tough 'love' just fine. Since I wrenched down on it hard, it seems to stay leak free. I hope this helps.

Best purchase I've made
UPDATE: After months of use, this has turned into my best purchase. For the dribbling, just make sure not to overfill and to close the lid securely. I've made it a habit to just shake the bottle a couple times after filling to get rid of the water trapped under/between the lid and bottle. It's great not having to taste tap water or dirty gym fountain water. Perfect for traveling.Things to be aware of:Open away from you on a plane because of pressure change. The water in the filter will get squeezed out regardless how full/empty the bottle is.Shake after filling, water can collect under/around the lid and drip on you. A drop of water also sometimes collects at the pressure valve next to the spout with filling/pressure changes (but never when closed).Aside from filling and not closing the lid tightly enough, it has never leaked on me in any bags.My biggest complaint is how small the bottle is. I'm constantly refilling, which get annoying, and longer hiking trips means it's not enough water.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It's definitely on the small side, the filter housing is hard to pop open, and the date/indicator is a piece of loose useless plastic. That said, taste is decent and worked wonderfully while traveling and drinking tap water. The lanyard/loop has a bad design where you have to line it up just right with the grooves on the neck of the bottle for it to seat properly, and this means it does not spin freely. I just got rid of it.My biggest peeve with this bottle is, as someone else mentioned, water gets trapped under the lid between the lid and threads regardless of how securely the lid is on. This then drips all over you as you drink and I'm so over having wet dribble marks down my shirt every day.Otherwise, great bottle, really soft and easy to squeeze, and can save you some money if you're traveling or normally buy bottled water.

Very disappointing
As many other users explained, I purchased this to replace a Brita that no longer had filters available. Others have complained about it leaking, but I found that the reason for the leak is the poorly designed handle/seal. It has specific grooves for it, and if they are not lined up perfectly, the top will leak. There is nothing in the instructions that pintas this out.My biggest issue, however, is the filter basket. As someone else described, it appears that it would be a screw-off cover. That would make perfect sense. But this is supposed to be a "snap-off" filter cover, but it is way too tight to simply snap off. Since it is a water bottle, the filter is wet, meaning that one cannot get a good grip on it to open. I tried pliers, I tried screwdrivers, I tried my teeth - nothing would open the filter holder cover. I finally had to use an extremely sharp knife to wedge into the filter holder, finagle it in a little, then finally pop the cover off so as to replace the filter. Very annoying and very dangerous! The bottle itself works great once the filter is in place and the seal is seated properly. But it's not really worth fighting this poorly engineered bottle just for a drink of water. Just make it a screw on filter cover and be done with it!! Go back to engineering design school. Or actually use the product yourself and see how poorly designed it is!
