Can this also be used as a cold pack?

The My Heating Pad- Hot Therapy Pack can be used cold, however please note that this Heating Pad is not meant to be used as an ice pack. It does not get as cold as an ice pack or a regular cold wrap. What is inside the pad? You mentioned "rice", what kind of rice is it? How can it hold the cold or heat?

I do not own a microwave will this be ok heated in an oven?

Just keep a fire extinguisher next by when it lights on fire in the oven but you should be good.
