The Beatles Musical
As the soundtrack to 2007's Musical Across the Universe this album is an interesting mixture of Beatles song renditions sung by the cast of the film. The songs are spread over two disc's which makes this great value for money as most soundtracks are just one disc. The songs themselves are very good with stand out tracks for me being 'I've just seen a Face', 'Helter Skelter', 'Let It Be' and 'If I Fell'.Track Listing:Disc 11.Girl - Jim Sturgess2.Hold Me Tight - Evan Rachel Wood3.All My Loving - Jim Sturgess4.I Want to Hold Your Hand - Teresa Victoria Carpio5.With a Little Help From My Friends - Joe Anderson & Jim Sturgess6.It Won't Be Long - Evan Rachel Wood7.I've Just Seen a Face - Jim Sturgess8.Let It Be - Timothy T. Mitchum & Carol Woods9.Come Together - Joe Cocker10.Why Don't We Do It in the Road? - Dana Fuchs11.If I Fell - Evan Rachel Wood12.I Want You (She's So Heavy)- Joe Anderson, Dana Fuchs, Teresa Victoria Carpio13Dear Prudence - Joe Anderson, Dana Fuchs, Jim Sturgess, Evan Rachel Wood, Teresa Victoria Carpio14.Flying - The Secret Machines15.Blue Jay Way - The Secret MachinesDisc 21.I Am the Walrus - Bono & The Secret Machines2.Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! - Eddie Izzard3.Because - Joe Anderson, Teresa Victoria Carpio, Dana Fuchs, Martin Luther McCoy, Jim Sturgess, Evan Rachel Wood4.Something - Jim Sturgess5.Oh! Darling - Dana Fuchs, Martin Luther McCoy6.Strawberry Fields Forever - Joe Anderson, Jim Sturgess7.Revolution - Jim Sturgess8.While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Martin Luther McCoy, Jim Sturgess9.Across the Universe - Jim Sturgess10.Helter Skelter - Dana Fuchs11.Happiness Is a Warm Gun - Joe Anderson, Salma Hayek12.Blackbird - Evan Rachel Wood13.Hey Jude - Joe Anderson14.Don't Let Me Down - Dana Fuchs, Martin Luther McCoy15.All You Need Is Love - Teresa Victoria Carpio, Dana Fuchs, Martin Luther McCoy, Jim Sturgess16.Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - Bono & The EdgeI highly recommend this to any fan of The Beatles or musicals in general and even if you haven't seen the film the music stands on its own merit.

acrross the beatles energy wave
Having seen the film I had a regression to the seventies with lots of emotions. Singing the Beatles song is a responsability and a job that can spoil the whole thing. Having said that some of the white album titles have been performed in a very sweet way: we all need to use our heart and these guys did it! The love story is very touching and the flavour of the sixties is there together with the bus, the colours and the settings used in those days. I have doubts about Bono's performance, Beatles are not Rattle and Hum! Having said that I apologize for the review based on the film...but the soundtrack must be rated for the creativity, the sound and the art which are energetically the finest ingredients!

If I could give this SIX stars I would!
As a teenager in the 60s I grew up with the Beatles and other 60s iconsI missed the release of this movie and only watched it some two years after its release. I honestly think if this movie was publicised more it could have quite easliey been as big as Mamma Mia. I am the first person to critisise Beatles covers but this is just perfect with just one the version of Mr Kite by Eddie Izzard as also a previous review said. Its an enjoyable trip back in time. I can now say it is one of my favorite musical movies BUY IT

Across the Universe
Superb soundtrack for one of the most underated movies of recent years. You should definitely buy the delux 2 disc edition which includes all the songs and if you haven't seen it yet check out the film and play it loud.

Very nostalgic!
I am not a Beatles fan, but after watching the film "Across the Universe", I have appreciated their music far more. This 2 CD is an excellent interpretation of some of the Beatles songs and a good sound recording. It brings back to life some of the songs, not forgotten but perhaps those which have not been played for a while on the radio. Would definitely recommend it - very nostaglic!

awesome :D xx
Pure emotion. From beginning to end the soundtrack takes you on a psychedelic beatle ride that grips you by the ears, the heart and the soul and never lets go. Easily the best film of the year and so the soundtrack is just as good. it even has two bonus tracks that i found quite cool :D xx
