Classic toy that entertains :)
This type of toy was recommended to me by my son's developmental pediatrician. She mentioned that it would help him with fine motor skills, as well as help develop his cause and effect awareness. I chose Mickey because he loves Mickey's Club House. He LOVES this toy. He hasn't figured out how to open the characters, he's only 10months (he was three months early so developmentally he's 7 months), but can hide the characters in record time. I was nervous he was going to pinch his fingers as he tried to close the characters, but he has literally never complained with this toy. He has complete concentration as he thinks about how to close the characters, he now criss crosses his hands to close two characters at once. I remember having a similar toy when I was younger.

Try it before you take it out of the package.
I purchased this for my 9 month old son. He loves Mickey and was so excited when he saw it in the box that I didn't tinker with it until I had taken it out of the box and he had played with it for awhile. All of the buttons stick (especially the blue button, which not even I can get to work). I figured maybe with use the buttons would "loosen up," and he would be able to use it, but alas, he has had it for a week now and the buttons are all the same. Luckily he enjoys pushing the characters down, Mommy just has to force them back up. Also make sure this is the size you want. It is smaller in length than Fisher Price one's and doesn't have a handle.

Button sticks; don't buy!
my daughter is obsessed with Mickey so I got this toy against recommendation. The blue button sticks as others report. Sometimes it requires an incredible amount of force to dislodge. The goofy crank is hard to twist for young toddlers. She was so excited and then got bored quickly because she couldn't get it to work. Don't buy this! Overpriced because it's disney and it doesn't work.

Blue Button Sticks
I wanted to love this so much for my 6 month old but the blue button sticks. If you press the top of the button it pops up but if you press the middle or bottom it doesn't. With an infant they don't know to press the top to get it to work. I returned this to get a replacement and the replacement had the same issue.

Too tough for toddlers!?
He buttons were very difficult for my son to use. I myself and fellow adults also struggled with it. We thought it was just sticky/tight because it's brand new, so we'd use it and overly press the buttons.. Again and again. My son became frustrated trying to work it so we keep it at Nana's and took her fisher price one.

Very fun classic toy featuring favorite disney characters
Very fun classic toy featuring favorite disney characters! Made of bright, durable, heavy plastic. This has already taken a beating and is still in great working condition. All children will developmentally be different, but my daughter who is 15 months can only operate the blue push button so far.

mediocre quality
I must say it wasn't money well spent. The toy looks very cheap and some body parts of the characters aren't painted at all. Mickey's nose is missing paint. My daughter gets very frustrated every time she tries to pop up the characters. It is simply too hard for her to push and move the buttons. They seem to get stuck when you push them. Definitely not well designed.

then maybe I would be happier with it
This toy should be 15$ at the most, then maybe I would be happier with it. Very cheaply made, and the blue button sticks all the time. I have a very strong 10 month old and he can't get the buttons to move. Sometimes you have to mess with the buttons in order for the characters to go back to the down position. Everything about the product screams CHEAP and the price isn't.
