This thing is pretty great
Now I haven't put it through some real abuse testing, but it cuts through cedars pretty quick. If you use it one handed and don't have Andre the giant hands, its gonna cause some fatigue. But it will clear the way fast. and its not as heavy as I thought it would be. Wrap the handle. its gets a little slick if you sweat, or its wet outside.

4.5 Star tool. Well made and useful. Great tool to install on tractor.
Surprisingly well built and useful tool. Have all kinds of axes, hatchets, trimmers, etc used on the farm. Regular machete not all that useful. Been clearing overgrowth with lots of super evergreen swedish ivy, honey suckle, poison ivy and looking for a better tool. Use a tractor with grapples to clean the big stuff. Then use this to do the cleanup and cut vines from trees. Worked better than I thought.ProsGood length and great handle. Examining before use thought the blade was too thin, but it worked well and wasn't overly fatiguing to use.Sharpened before I used it, <5 minutes on belt grinder and finished with stone. Blade stays sharp and the forward weight of blade really can cut deep. The slight bill hook makes cutting vines and small limbs safe and effective. . Some vines were 3" think and took multiple strikes to cut through with the hatchet blade. The sheath is very well made. Good price point for a quality tool. Like the combination of edges and tools. Should last a long time.ConsSheath has no belt loop. Not a problem for me. Pop riveted sheath to the canopy of the tractor to have it readily available. One hand can unsnap strap, rip the substantial velcro pocket open and remove the tool. Feel safe to carry tool this way. We mow with this little tractor so always handy for trimming. The tool is not sharp. All tools have to be sharpened and maintained so no big deal. Haven't found the saw blade section on the back that useful.-0.5 StarUnusual but useful tool to keep around. Makes quick work of smaller stuff and especially viney materials. Price was reasonable. MIght buy another for a 2nd tractor because it worked so well. Highly recommended. .This tool has been very handy for spring cleaning. 140 acre farm, mostly wooded. Pop riveted sheath to tractor ROPS canopy so always handy and safe to carry. Great for clearing small limbs or vines on roads, trails and fences. Chopping into the ground hitting rocks has dulled and slightly chipped blade but expected and easily resharpened. Bought a second one for another tractor. Unlike the the first one the blade came factory sharpened. Clearly could see were the blade coating had been ground to leave a fairly sharp edge..Required little effort to bring it to the sharpness that I like. Enjoying this new tool and like the results from using.Bought another to keep on the 4-wheeler. Fits nicely between the body and front rack. Very handy tool to clear face slappers on trails.

DO NOT HESISTATE. BUY THIS FISKARS MACHETTE AXE!
This machette axe is the most amazing brush, vine and limb clearing tool, ever!If you need a solid tool for clearing brush, limbs and vines, DO NOT HESITATE, purchase this Fiskars machette axe.I'm sure it's not recommended, nor do I care, but I was clearing small tree limbs, up to 3" on trees, in a single smooth swipe. I was also able to slice through thick vines and even thin vines of bittersweet growth, that was very abundant. The grip is amazingly comfortable for me, at just over 6' and large size gloves, the handle absorbs the impact extremely well, leaving virtually no fatigue, if you know how to propely swing and use a machette. With both hands or just one, it has an extremely effective slice and weight distribution. The added axe head, can be very useful as well. I cleared an area 1200 square feet or bigger in a matter of a couple hours, taking my sweet time and not overworking myself... I'm too old for that anymore.I considered making a video for this product review, I liked it so much. I've never used a machette with the strength, sharpness, erconomics and longevity of handling ease.I'm the MOST skeptical person, you'll ever meet. I do not write reviews. My personal recommendation, is basically a guarantee, you will not be disappointed.Thank you for your time.

So far so good
Out of the box it needs to be sharpened. But I was able to get a nice razor like edge pretty quickly by hand sharpening and a carbide sharpening system for axes. I have only been able to use it for a couple of hours so far. But for my needs it has been working well and has held its edge after sharpening.I put it through its paces on some ornamental grasses, debarking some tree branches and cutting some palms that resemble the way bamboo grows. It did struggle with the palms getting through the hard outer layer but cut right through the inner core of the palm tree. I have to thin out the palms a couple times a year and typically just use the chain saw and make short work of it. But I couldn't get the saw running last week and had to bring it back to Stihl for service and this did work but I would definitely prefer a chain saw. But it did a great job with cutting off some suckers and small limbs growing on a tree limb that was cut over the weekend and I use the twigs, suckers and small branches as kindling for the fire bowl/pit out back.As for what I do not like is that I had to sharpen it right out of the box . I also do not like the fact that the blade doesn't run through to the end of the handle and could possibly be a weak spot in the design. I was always taught to only buy knives and other blades where the steel runs from the tip of the blade and down to the end of the handle for better strength and a better feel. I was a bit shocked at the the fact that the sheath had zero way to attach to a belt, pack or even sling it over the shoulder. But I would definitely suggest add some belt loops and Molle attachment points to attach to a pack or a way to sling it over the shoulder since as it is odds are people will lose the sheath in the field, woods or swamp, etc by setting it down in the work area. Afterall it would cost maybe a buck to add several sets of 1 inch webbing for an attachment points.I did try to cut some small logs and it had some vibrations in the hands but I might just add some paranoid to the handle to improve the grip and try to get rid of some of the vibration some. But I do like the factory grip but we will see what happens with it in the future. But so far I dolike it overall and it does have potential for around the home. Would I go on an expedition to the Amazon or another tropical jungle not a chance. I would want to see the blade extend through the handle all the way to the end of the handle for strength and I would prefer to have some loops on the sheath to attach to a pack or something. But it is definitely going to have potential and it's issues.
