Thermostat
I went with a name brand that I have known and used for many years and I feel this is a good quality product. I did need to turn the gasket to get the t-stat clocked correctly and the tab on the gasket is not as wide as the original but it will work. That is the only reason for not giving 5 stars.Less than 3 months and the car started over heating, upon checking the t-stat was not working so out it came and good to go again. Maybe just bad luck but I can't say I'm happy with this item.

Simple and easy to replace.
I am not a mechanic but I do a little work around the garage. This matched up with my old one and was a super easy install. I spent more time finding an extension to reach the bolt them the time it actually took to replace it. Went back together with no leaks.

Trash thermostat, 2nd one to get stuck! Almost cost me a fresh rebuild with only 30 miles.

Fit my neighbors 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser and fixed overheating issue
I installed this Gates 33849 Thermostat in my neighbor's car to hopefully fix her overheating issue. It worked!Her PT Cruiser is now cruising like it should!the thermostat arrives in the box with the gasket installed around it, so make sure when you put the rubber gasket around the thermostat that it's lined up on the grooves around the thermostat's perimeter.
