Nice antenna
It is a good, solid, mobile antenns. The materials it is made from seem more than sturdy and I anticipate that it will hold up well for mobile use. The only caveat is that it uses 2 different size set screws to hold the antenna together and for adjustments, which require 2 different size allen wrenches. The antenna itself works well. We tried it right away and after a little tweaking got the SWR down to 1.9:1 immediately and that will certainly get better with additional tweaking as we have time to adjust it. Good, solid antenna.

Does The Job Well
Bought to replace an older, more expensive Diamond mobile antenna that broke (my fault, not the antenna) and have been more than happy with the performance. I can get into all the repeaters I could previously and the few I talk simplex with all report that my signal strength hasn't fallen with this new antenna. As far as I'm concerned, it's a great band for the buck.

Fun while it lasted
Had it on the car for 9 mos and the plastic below the fold down point cracked and split. It worked great while it lasted but I thought it should last longer than 9 months. It works really well drilled through the fender on my lil car so ground plane was no issue, but the plastic seems to not be able to hold up to a Las Vegas summer, and freeway speed. I looked up the seller and no returns or refunds, I can find manufacturer brochures but no contact for the maker. Buyer beware.

Well build and decent performer. SWR on 2M could be better.
I bought this antenna for the dual band ability and it works well for that application. However, I am unable to get the SWR down below 1:3 on 2M. I haven't checked on 70cm nor have I tried tuning. I will update this review if things change.[Update] I checked SWR again after improving my ground plane and it is much better. I am averaging 1:1.4 vehicle mounted and 1:1.6 off vehicle.

Wow
I bought this little dude based on the ratings it received, and holy cow am I impressed. I originally had a Radio Shack magnetic mount which was mehh at best, but i screwed this one on where my Wilson 1000 is mounted and it was amazing and clear and quiet and sensitive. I would highly recommend this one. BTW it was unclear to me from it's listing what kind of mount was needed for it so let me clear that up. it screws into a PL-259 type base

Works well once you tune it. Mine was 1.5 inches too long.
I received my antenna and it appears to be built well. Out of the box it had a 1:1.5 SWR on 70 cm and 1:3.1 at 179.00 MHz and 1:2.1 at 144.00 MHz. I did my testing mounted to the hood, roof, and trunk of my car parked away from any buildings or structures. I had to shorten the second element by an 1.5 inches to get the SWR around 1:2 at 179.00 MHz and 1:1.5 at 144.00 MHz.I don't know if mine was a quality control issue, but I'm lucky it was built long instead of short! I'd give it 5 stars if I didn't have to tune it so much. You'll definitely need a SWR meter if you don't want to burn up your radio.
