SwiftUI For Dummies Paperback – 21 Aug. 2020

I have very mixed feelings about this book. On one hand I learned a few new things about SwiftUI and the hands-on approach is really useful. Much more so than some Internet tutorials on the same subject. However the book feels slightly chaotic as there was not enough time to think it through and some contents gets repeated. This is even more true for code snippets: this book could have at least 50 pages less if so much code wasn't repeated. I'm not sure people are such 'dummies' when they reach for this kind of book. But the worst thing about the book is how it was released - poor quality paper on which poor quality images were imposed. Some of the text in the images is not even legible, and that's the whole point of these images. I'm not sure why so much black ink was wasted on something so useless due to its quality. Still, the book is usable for the most part and it's probably one of the best books about SwiftUI, but only because there are so few available on the market.

Not sure if it a faulty batch in terms of printing but as someone has previously pointed out the text on each page isn’t printed correctly. You can read the code examples but the text accompanying it is barely legible.

The content of the kindle book seems pretty good, but the online downloadable content isn't available yet (the links in the book don't work anyway, and searching yielding nothing). That makes it impossible to do the projects.

Das Buch behandelt im ersten Teil kurz die Grundlagen zu Swift und im zweiten Teil das Thema SwiftUI. Es ist einfach geschrieben und gut erklärt und somit gut für Einsteiger geeignet. Auch die Beispiele sind gut nachvollziehbar. Wenn man Themen wie SwiftUI mit Core Data sucht, wird man leider hier nicht fündig. Wünschenswert wäre auch eine Ausgabe dieser SwiftUI-Reihe mit aufbauenden Themen wie z.B. Core Data.Das Buch ist bis jetzt nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar.

Unfortunately book is written based on xcode. 11.You can only download v12 from apple, there are confusing differences when trying to follow the book.

どうしても読みたい本だったので、返品交換しましたが、案の定、２冊とも同じ状態でした。ロットが同じならば不良品が続くだろうは予想しましたが残念です。まともになったら通知してほしい。

It is not up to date enough for the XCode 12 iOS 14 for Programming for Beginners is much better
