I wish I would have found this book years ago, when I was putting myself through the 'brain damage' if writing performance reviews. This is also a good tool for Self-reflection. I was curious and read 1 Star Reviews on this book. I don't understand the mindset of people who wrote 1-2 star reviews. This book provides a vast resource. It's our job as a reader to find value in it. So here we go- Bad Performance Review for 1-2 star reviewers.

Very helpful

I am a Marine Corps Officer and I found great use from this book for writing FITREPs. Any of my peers that read this review, I hope you purchase this book. Has a wide array of jobs in the civilian world (legal, technical, etc) and effective sentences to use per occupation. I found pretty similar career examples in the book that I was able to transfer into the FITREPs I wrote for the different billets/assignments that I supervise. A must for good FITREP writing.

This book has been so helpful in writing performance reviews- has good suggestions for areas staff are doing well or could use improvement as well as potential performance goals. There are also career specific sections which some may find helpful.

Great starter for information

This book really helps me when brainstorming performance evaluations. Providing sample phrasing for key performance areas makes it easy to write professional reviews with all the right keywords other managers look for. I’ve leant this book out several times, replaced it a couple times ;), and always keep it on my desk around time for annual reviews.

Good book to find inspiration when writing employee reviews. It's too bad that with advances in technology things like these might be a thing of the past. Using Ai like chatGPT will do the same thing this book is intended to do. That being said you can still use this for inspiration with Ai to come up with well worded reviews.

I really wanted to like this book. I was excited before I even received it. Somewhere along the way I missed there were particular examples for titles and roles for more than half of the book. Healthcare wasn't listed, which means I can piecemeal some of it, but most of this book will be unusable to me.
