The globe was the perfect size and looks very fancy, not cheap at all. It looks very elegant on top of my desk. The only thing I might suggest is that since this globe is a smaller size, I think it could have less information than the big globe, like maybe take the smaller city names out, because it makes it too crowded to read easily.

The globe part is well made and high quality but the frame is so cheap. The brass look frame arm is actually really thin plastic. The whole thing is so light weight you can't spin the globe at all because it will tip over. The wood look base is also plastic. Really? For almost 60.00 I expected more. I will probably return. It looks awesome but dont touch it.

Very nice quality- actually much nicer than expected. The detailed/ raised topography of mountain areas is a nice touch as well. Perfect size to sit on an office desk or bookcase

It is as advertised. It says the meridian is plastic right there in the description. People need to read and know what they are buying. It is not flimsy and doesn't look cheap at all. It looks very nice on my office desk and contrary to the opinion written earlier, does not require two hands to turn the globe. I personally tested this once I got mine and it turned very easily with one hand without using the other hand to support the base. The felt pads on the bottom of a solid wood base held it in place as the globe spinned.Nice coloring, mimics topography, a legend for population centers, soft felt on the base to prevent scratches, and made very well for that price (aside from the taped line along the hemisphere, which is clearly visible in the photo).4 stars from me.

I bought this last year and forgot to write a review. Well to say now the globe is still in great condition on display in my living room. Came packaged very well and professionally and also included a booklet on the globe and about how it was hand-crafted. well worth the money and just looks great! Great gift for history buffs and "old world" collectors. Or even just scholars in general. Very pleased.

Globe size is accurate. Detailing on the globe looks good from far but don't get too close because it looks really cheap. I also thought that the frame would be made of metal but it is plastic. Similarly the base is made of lightweight wood so the globe can tip over when being handled by children and requires two hands to turn it (one to hold the base and one to spin the globe.)

The Globe is the perfect size for display and it has helped my family understand where this country's are when the news talks about them. The colorful nations make it fun for the kids to find the Nations...inexpensively, fun, and educational what more can you ask for?

Detail and finish are generally better than the least expensive globes, but there are still gaps and misfits between the panels. Equator blank is wide. Molded relief only hints at major mountain ranges. Styling is successful and presentation is good, if the whole thing feels insubstantial. I'd recommend spending a lot more or a bit less for better value.
