Cheap for what it does
I hit allot of forest roads and dispersed camping. I hit mud snow and rutted terian made from skinny pedal rubi warriors. Either way if you own a farm jack and display it proudly then you might want this. All jokes aside this is a good kit. The bag has plenty of room for 20-30ft of chain that you need to make this kit usable. Being able to reset the jack by your self is huge If you explore alone. Where I go a chain saw, tire chains and some type of winch is cheap insurance to get home home. Cheers!!

Some assembly required
My only gripe is the mounting hardware that attaches these to the jack. When I'm stuck in the mud or high-centered on a rock that's really not when I want to be fishing around in my toolbox for a wrench to attach these things to my jack. The kit even includes a clevis pin with a wire retainer to make the foot of your jack "quick release". Why not do that for the brackets too?? I'll be heading to the local farm store to see if I can source some suitable fasteners and toss the nut and bolt into the toolbox as a backup. So far I haven't had the opportunity to use this to extract a vehicle but it did a great job yanking a stuck drain pipe from beneath a slab. The grab-hook that attaches to the lifting tab is very handy for grabbing fence posts and other things that need to be "pulled" as well.I'm not sure why this kit doesn't come assembled. Granted, it only takes a few minutes to install the grab hooks and attach the brackets but that seems to be a little short-sighted. I think there are probably some folks out there that are going to buy this kit and just toss it in their truck until they think they need it. When they finally open the box and actually look at the pieces...surprise!! They're going to spend some time with assembly that could be better used getting unstuck.

Great compliment to my Hi-Lift jack
I originally purchased this kit to go with my Hi-Lift Jack mounted on my Jeep. However, today I used some parts from the kit to use the Hi-Lift jack to pull some old 4x4 posts (mounted in concrete). It worked great without any digging. I just had to use a piece of 2x12 I had lying around, to stabilize the jack on the soft ground. I pulled several posts in no time at all. Highly recommend.

Some disappointing parts for an American brand
There are some very helpful reviews already which set my expectation on this product. I can say I went into this knowing I was paying the money mainly for the nose attachment and winch tensioner. I was debating going an alternate route, but accepted this for the general ease of use. First, all the components are rated at least 5,000 lb, which is what the top clamp of the standard jack is rated at. The choice you have to make is how much you trust the products. The shackle that came with this is complete garbage, the holes for the pin are so misaligned that it goes in visibly crooked (see photo). This will go into the trash after I write to Hi-Lift. Second, the 5,000 lb tree saver feels like a throwaway item, and in fact will be. Even the gloves are thin, but I'll get a use or two out of them. Also note that you will need 20-30' of 3/8" Grade 70 chain with grab hooks. It has a 6,600 lb WLL, so your other parts will break before the chain (which is what I would prefer). Expect to drop $50-90 on a 20' piece of that chain with hooks from online sources. You will also need a chain or strap to connect to the vehicle. So this kit is one piece of your manual winching solution. Final note, watch out for YouTube "instructions" showing how to use this. A few of them a wrong, and in fact dangerous.

Great value and addition
I've Jimmy rigged these adapters in the past when using farm jack, glad to have real solutions for future use.

Excellent items
Have two hi lift extremes one 2013 2dr Rubicon,, one for 1986 M1009 SHTF vehicle. Will carry bag in Jeep with rear 2” hitch, move to other vehicle when needed. Question I have is, is this the normal way to Ship this item with No taped sides, nor a cover box or something to protect from being stolen? Received the “box” on the porch,, no shipping container or shipping list, just the box, not even taped up! Took inventory of items and all were there. There should be better shipping of this as to prevent theft !!!

An off-roading must
This is a must when you leave the pavement. It has got us and a few of our friends out of some bad jams. The tree strap is a must and required in some of the parks we have been to. There is a learning curve to figure out everything it is capable of but well worth learning. This stays in the Jeep were ever we take it. The case is nice and has held up well. The old Jeep has no top, so it gets wet a lot but nothing has ever rusted or become rotten.
