Purchased two of these extension leads, solely to tidy up computer and desk wiring. One is now wall mounted horizontally, the other lies on the floor. The wall mounted one is used solely for computer use and is fully populated with six PSUs and one usb connector, all for peripherals that require ethernet connections. It draws very little amperage and is working as expected. The floor mounted one is supplying power directly to computer, printer, desk lamp etc and is again fully populated but drawing a lot more current. All sockets on both leads are permanently switched on and installed with a view never to access them again unless something fails. (The cheap non-switched or protected extension leads they replaced had been in place for ten years without problems). The units appear to be strongly made though others have reported failures over time. They are relatively expensive but hopefully will perform as advertised for the foreseeable future. Now installed 'as per plan' they are out of sight with no ready access. The downside: The plug sockets are on a slope and do not hold PSU's and plugs particularly firmly. They could work loose or even fall out if disturbed - perhaps by catching a lead or silmilar. This is particularly true if mounted horizontally on a wall since the plug and/or heavier PSU is being inserted 'underneath' the horizontal. I do not intend, nor would I wish to be frequently changing items in the plug sockets. I have not used the usb sockets to charge phones or tablets so cannot comment on efficiency.

I purchased this for my tv then changed my mind and have used it in my bedroom I'm so happy with it the usb charging function saves having more bulky plugs and means I don't have to keep unplugging things to use other items like hairdryers etc... I have fixed it to the wall and that's where it will now live it is hard to find a scent extension lead that is wall fixable at the moment they just don't make them as much as they used to and finding this one wasn't easy but so glad I did in fact I may purchase another for my son's room 😀

Update: Two have blown. Recent one actually started melting. One is an anomaly, two is a significant safety concern. I absolutely do not trust this brand any more. And no, nothing high-powered or unusual plugged into it at all. Speakers, a monitor, and an official Android charger. Original review continues: We've had one for years, which has been nothing short of perfect. Last week we bought another and the USB port started making a loud 'popping' sound, which continued even when everything was unplugged from it. Fortunately, no devices that were plugged into it were in any way damaged, so I suspect that speaks well of its own protection. So that's due for return. Needless to say, if it happens again, I'll no longer hold any trust for Bestek. These things happen, I suppose. Though, with power cords and extensions, they really, really shouldn't. If the 'popping' sound is arcing, that could well end up with excessive heat and fire. Fuses should go before that even becomes a concern. So it's a bit worrying. I see there's at least one other review of this happening, too. Something to be aware of. Don't trust it without someone around while it's on, is my advice.

I bought this for my Grandson, it has the USB & a UBB C ports as well as a surge trip protector…

Pros: Excellent Quality!! Cons: It is a bit bulgy in size
