Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Sunscreen Lotion, Face & Body, SPF 50, 3oz

I loved that this was made for sensitive faces(I have a little eczema and my dermatologist recommended it) and it's easy to apply. You can rub it in or let it sit on top of your skin for more protection. The only thing is if you don't rub it in, your face will look rather white. I did this because my face burns very easily, but I looked a little ghostly! The scent did not bother me and I never had the problem of it burning my eyes. I wore it to the beach but stayed mostly in the shade and didn't get in the water, so I can't comment about whether it wears off in the water. I still got a great tan on my face and will use it again at the beach. I haven't tried it yet under makeup, because I bought the Cetaphil day lotion for sensitive skin(Redness Relieving Daily Facial Moisturizer with an SPF of 20) and it has sunscreen in it. Also, I don't put on makeup to sunbathe.

I love the feel of this sunscreen on my skin. I think it works great!! One negative feature I need to mention: it does have a white tint but when fully rubbed in it just makes me look like I'm wearing foundation. I have one step above fair skin so it's not too bad on me. My husband is very fair and gets red. the sunscreen just evens out his skin tone and looks natural on him. My sister on the other hand has a more bronze complexion and she refuses to try it because she says it would make her look too white.

I’m gonna start by saying that I love Cetaphil products but this one is just a complete miss for me. My skin is very fair, so most foundations I end up being the lightest shade or the one next to it. Even with that being said I found this sunscreen to be way too white. It’s extremely difficult to spread, has an extremely thick consistency so I end up pulling on my skin in order to blend it in. And even then it still just looks caked on. It sits on top and makes the pores look twice as big, and after about an hour it starts drying out and turns into weird chalky texture. I seriously can’t picture anyone with a darker skin tone wearing this. So I plan on using it if I’m staying in and around my house but I would never wear it out in public

I’m satisfied with this sunscreen until I find something better. I switched to this brand recently due to the fact that I was using one of the recalled Neutrogena brands. I do feel protected when I use this brand but I am not a fan of the blue tint it leaves, can you say smurf? 😆 It also has a chalky feel that peels slightly, so, if you decide to choose this sunscreen it is good, just know that you are going to have to rub it in really well to be undetected or wear makeup.

I have rosacea and was in need for a sunblock that was gentle on my sensitive and infected skin. After searching around online, I came across this. It was advertised as sensitive-skin friendly, didn't really have any ingredients that stood out to me to be rosacea-triggering, and it was SPF 50 which is nice to use on your face. Well, this sunblock was certainly interesting. It was thick and creamy; because of the texture, I thought it would have no problem in providing protection. However, it was actually difficult to spread across my face because it would kind of "clump" or not spread evenly. On top of that, it has an extremely noticeable whitecast, which I normally can deal with, but this was just way too much. Additionally, it was starting to sting my face. Ouch. So, I used it on the back of my hand and noticed it was a lot more useful for the body than the face. The spread was the same, but it was still an easier spread. Even though it did leave a white cast, it was a lot more bearable than on the face which made you look like Dr. Moreau. A big plus for using this sunblock on your body is that if you let it set after a few minutes and run your hand over your skin, it won't smear. Also! I had forgotten I had it left on the back of my hand and ran my hands under water. The sunblock didn't come off! So, I figured it was definitely meant for the body and not the face.

Like other reviewers have said this product does NOT rub in so it's invisible; it leaves a white cast BUT, as a lap swimmer I find that my face doesn't get as dark so I don't have goggle rings around my eyes which I really like. I would not use this product other than for lap swimming because of the white cast.

I always have both chemical and physical sunscreens on hand. On normal days, I would use chemical sunscreen, but when my skin is ultra-sensitive or irritated, I would always use mineral sunscreen. I've used plenty of mineral sunscreens that truly leave a minimal white cast. To be honest, for a mineral sunscreen, you need to expect some sort of white cast, it's just to what degree. So when I saw this recommended on one of my favorite YouTuber's channels, I was eager to give it a try. Bought it off Amazon right away. After trying this on, I just laughed. The product claims that it "Blends quickly into the skin without leaving a white cast or greasy residue". Complete lies. The white cast was so strong and the more you try to blend it out, the more cakey it looks. I have fairly light skin and it still looked super white, so I can't imagine anyone with medium to dark skin using this! I really tried to make it work but trying different moisturizers underneath and even using a tinted sunscreen over it and I could STILL see the white cast underneath, so I don't think using minimal makeup over it will cover the white cast. Plus, I think it also broke me out a bit on my chin and forehead areas. The verdict: definitely a HUGE MISS for me!!! I'm going to use this on my body instead just so I don't waste it, but I would NOT recommend this to anyone unless they don't mind looking like Moaning Myrtle.
