My husband takes great care of his Red Wing boots, so he wanted a proper boot tree to help maintain their shape. He uses these with his limited edition Flatbox boots from Japan, and the fit is spot on. Sizing was easy to follow, and the size we chose fits his 8.5 boots perfectly. The boot trees hold the shape well and help keep the leather looking structured after wear. They feel solid and do exactly what they’re supposed to do. If you care about maintaining the shape and longevity of your boots, these are worth it.

I use Stratton trees for most of my shoes. Choose the correct size. The boot trees are just as sound as the shoe trees. In most boots, they go in well and form the foot appropriately. Some jodhpur style boots* turn into a wrestling match to insert and remove - barrel/stack diameter, allowed angle of attack, and depth apply. As a matter of course, cedar trees help with moisture and maintaining the shoes' shape for increased life. * I wear these less and less as I get older as getting them on and off is more difficult and my skin is thinner and I blister more easily.

These Stratton Boss cedar boot trees are a solid upgrade for keeping my short boots in shape. These are good boot trees. The cedar smell is amazing. Do not expect to use these to stretch your boots. My only complaint was excessive adhesive that was on the label on each boot.

Had my boot trees for a couple years and still they are great and do the job well keeping my boots dry and not smashed.

I had high hopes for this boot tree. It is definitely well made but the sizing is not accurate. I have a pair of RM Williams boots and the "medium" sticks out of the top of the boot by 1.5-2 inches and has caused the boot to stretch out in the ankle/neck and in the main part of the foot - this stretching is not reforming the shape of the boot as a shoe tree is intended to do - it is actually making the boots wider/looser than they should be. When I wrote to Stratton originally, I was told that it was normal for the top of the tree to stick out of the boot that much but if I place the shoe tree alongside the boot, it should fit snugly. I don't know if this is because the medium is over sized or I have a defective tree. I tried to use if for a few weeks but have stopped because it appears to be ruining my boots. As much as I was pleased with the quality, something isn't right.

My impulse in shoe trees is to favor ones that really put a powerful stretch on the leather. I wouldn't say that these really do this. Probably it is due to the fact that I have wide feet and bought boots in a wide size. Otherwise I really like these for the way they look, feel, operate, and smell. I especially love the little brass knobs on the top which are both decorative and large enough to use to pull the trees out of the boots.

Strong cedar wood smell, fits into my US 7 chelsea boots perfectly. Recommended highly. No damage or defects on the wood. Product is identical to picture.

Use size comparison for US to UK to ascertain which one to get and it should be fine - true to size. I would say if you are towards the higher end of the size boundaries go smaller as even though there is some give in the springs you don’t want to over stretch your boots. For me I have Chelsea boots with the Lycra (I believe) near the ankle to allow you to get the boots on and off for which they go in and out with relative ease - one thing I was concerned about prior to receiving them but not been an issue having received them and put them to use.

I found these to fit loosely in the vertical shaft of the boot. The toe component of this worked fine. Hence, these seemed to offer no particular advantage over standard shoe trees, despite the increased price. Build quality seemed fine. If the vertical “ankle/leg” of this were thicker, I’d reconsider my thoughts.

Purchased two pairs for my designer ankle boots. Difficult to push in and would not reach the tip regardless of how you insert it. With this price, expected a better mechanical function and performance.
