Not your ordinary pink flamingo.
While this zombie flamingo is not exactly intimidating, it IS amusing. I wish that the pink on the tail was a bit pink-er, and that the skeletal painting was a bit more obvious, and perhaps glow in the dark. But other than that, it is pretty cool, and since it didn't cost me a whole lot, I am satisfied with it. The baleful red eye is what does it. I ordered a pair of skeleton flamingoes to go with it, since one flamingo is a rather lonely bird. They tend to hang in flocks, so a flock mine shall be, just, not ordinary ones. The flamingo comes as promised, and the shipping was certainly quick. It came in a big box and was shipped well. The legs are two metal rods, a bit thicker than wire clothes hangers, well, ok, twice as thick, stiff. They will hold up well enough. The flamingo itself is not large, but with the metal legs, it stands high enough that it is seen. It comes with the metal rods taped together and you have to pierce them through the two holes that are drilled for them in the bird's nether region. I had to push rather firmly, as the holes were not fully drilled through, and the 'legs' would not stay in the bird. When I forcefully pushed them through, then they worked fine. So don't be afraid to push with some force behind it if you encounter the same issue. It is a fine addition to our landscaping. I am sure it will get some comments come trick or treating for Halloween, but I might keep it out for other occasions as well. I wonder if it might fade, though? Or the plastic become brittle, as it can when exposed over long to sun. Some does. I also think these could be magnets for being appropriated by hooligans, but we don't get many so I don't worry overmuch.

The Sad Story Of A Legless Flamingo
I love our Zombie Flamingo. We named him Lee from Telltale's The Walking Dead game (we have two "alive" pink flamingos that are named Clementine and Sheriff Rick), and we purchased him a zombie garden gnome to keep him company and so he doesn't feel misunderstood. He was the very first lawn ornament we got for our garden, so I might be a bit biased, but... I love him.I have to admit, though, ZF's life didn't start easy. When he arrived, he had no legs. WHAT'S A FLAMINGO SUPPOSED TO DO WITHOUT LEGS?! I mean - have you seen a flamingo? Their legs are a very notable part of their anatomy - there's even a yoga pose named after the unique position they contort themselves into - so it was distressing. Also inconvenient... how was I supposed to get him in my garden if I couldn't stand him up (sure, we found a rusty hanger that we cut legs out of it [and it actually looks much more appropriate then something shiny and new])? I wrote to Amazon about this (actually the letter was from Lee himself, I just translated plastic flamingo speak into english), and they very kindly reimbursed me and sent Lee an email back. Seriously. That's some exceptional customer service right there.Despite standing in the sunshine all day every day for many, may summers his colors haven't faded. We played with the idea of coloring his eyes with glow-in-the-dark paint, but Lee is quite happy with his home amongst the hosta, Clementine and Sherrif Rick, and the twenty plus gnomes he can lurk behind.

Good Scary Look-needs better legs
Perfect for Halloween, but the legs were weak and didn't hold up during a storm. I tried a pair of replacement legs, but they were the wrong size

Not worth the packaging it was shipped in...
My flamingo has arrived... and what an utter disappointment. Small and cheap; extremely poor quality. From the plastic to the paint and two metal "leg" rods. The item also has large print on either side of it's body on the wings, not even on the bottom, where the manufacturer, etc info would be less intrusive or immediately seen. The paint job on the thin plastic is drab, sparse and not as pictured. The holes for the "legs" do not go through the bottom, nor are they fitted to hold onto the thin metal rods which accompanied the item. The legs holes are close-set, shallow and oversized. When the bird was placed upon them it topples right over. When placed in a flower pot, the legs had to be directed in opposite directions, as well as, leaned up against the sides of the container to hold the flamingo steady. But, as the leg holes are neither deep enough, nor fitted to the leg rods, any gust of wind, rain or slight touch sends it tipping right over and off of the rods. Putty, super glue or wooden skewers or perhaps punching through the holes completely, may be helpful. As well as, a home paint job to bring better color and coverage to this item. Really, anything would be an improvement.I immediately thought of sending this item back, however, figured it is neither worth the time it will take to follow the "return instructions", call and hold time to then await the return paperwork from the company upon request. Nor, the gas, effort, or shipping cost to send the item back at our post office. Will NOT be purchasing from this company again.

Looks fantastic, shody legs
As stated in the title, the Zombie Flamingo itself is fantastic. It's a lot more detailed and far cooler in person than the images let on. The downside are the legs. While it can be seen from the picture provided, they are simply aluminum rods/stakes. What can't be seen is how flimsy the mounting method is. After a bit of super glue and half a hot glue stick, I was able to make the legs stay attached to the body. The holes for the "legs" weren't deep enough or tight enough and when made a bit deeper, the legs simply slip into the body of the flamingo itself. Due to the legs and added work to make the flamingo stable, I'd love to see the price closer to $10, but given the zombie craze the last couple of years, I can understand the company taking advantage of it to make a few extra bucks.
