What weight load will these support? Thanks

We have tested these to hold 20 lbs indefinitely when installed correctly on smooth tile. We would recommend you limit the load to 10 lbs for more delicate surfaces such as painted drywall. For reference, most curtain rod and curtain combinations come in at about 4-6 lbs total. No matter what type of surface you install your Rod Retainer brackets on, be sure to thoroughly clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and dry it completely before sticking the brackets to your walls. Once the brackets are in place, apply firm pressure to each bracket for 30 seconds, then tighten your shower curtain rod as instructed by the rod's manufacturer.

Do these work with the curved rods?

We do not generally recommend this product for use with curved curtain rods. Curved shower curtain rods typically have a much larger end cap than our Rod Retainer brackets are designed to fit. However, if you know that your curved shower curtain rod is less than 1.5 inches in diameter at its ends for our small model, or less than 2.75 inches for our XL model, then our product should work for you. Will it fit a square ended rod?

Well. You can fit a small square within a circle. It won't fit right but it will keep it from sliding down the wall. Take the measurements of the big square, draw a circle within in and see how your square would fit. But maybe a better solution would just be to velcro a small horizontal mini-tile.

Will the adhesive damage paint on walls?

I’m not sure about the damage to the wall. Mine is affixed to the inner shower surround walls. It sticks so well and securely that if it was removed from a wall it would probably remove the paint.
