Needs to be descaled like a coffee pot
My dishwasher is older and doesn't offer a sterilization feature so I needed to purchase a dedicated sterilizer. Plus dishwashers don't get to the necessary temperature for bacterial elimination. When my baby was first born, we used this twice a day for 2 months. Eventually, we have gotten into the rhythm of once a day fitting 4 Dr. Brown wide mouth bottles (5 or 9oz), 5 medela transfer bottles (5 oz), and pumping parts (Breast collection cup parts). We use the auto cycle with the dry setting and it takes one hour to complete. We pull it forward so the steam doesn't damage the cabinets in our kitchen. The metal plate that heats up the water for steam gets dirty, similar to a coffee pot. We have to descale with full strength white vinegar for about 30mins for it to look brand new. We typically descale every two weeks, but it depends on how many mineral are in your water and how often you use it!It's a large device, so when we travel, we take the Dr. Brown microwave bags instead.

Great
I love using this sterilizer I wouldn't have chosen any other sterilizer. It works great, especially with the different options It has, but I only click the same two buttons but a sterilizes his bottles very well. I never see any speck of dirt or residue when using the sterilizer and it's very simple too as well to learn.

A Must-Have for Dr. Brown’s Bottles, But Know Its Limits
The media could not be loaded. We bought the Dr. Brown’s All-in-One Sterilizer and Dryer because our Philips Avent sterilizer didn’t fit the tall, narrow Dr. Brown’s bottles. If you exclusively use Dr. Brown’s bottles, this is a solid choice since many other sterilizers don’t accommodate the tall narrow shape.Check out the video for more details :)Pros:• Designed for Dr. Brown’s bottles – The tall, narrow shape fits perfectly here, unlike other sterilizers.• Spacious capacity – Holds up to six bottles plus all their parts, and even fits pumping parts if needed.• Multiple modes – You can choose between sterilizing only, drying only, or auto mode (which does both).• Set it and forget it – Auto mode is convenient for busy parents.Cons:• Not a washer – This doesn’t clean bottles; you still need to wash them separately before sterilizing. Washing would sometimes take us 30 min a day between bottles and pumping parts… really took a toll on us doing this Every. Single. Day.• Takes a while – Compared to other sterilizers, the full cycle (especially auto mode) feels long. Our Philips Avent sterilizer completes a dry and sterilize cycle in ~45min vs the Dr Brown’s sterilizer which takes almost an hour.• Loud drying mode – The drying function is noticeably loud, so we avoid running it at night.PRO TIP: If we could turn back time, we’d invest in an all-in-one washer + sterilizer + dryer combo to simplify the daily routine from the beginning. BUT those are expensive. Our baby is now 8 months old, so it’s hard for us to justify that cost when we only have 4 ish months of bottle feeding left. So instead, we recently bought the Dr Brown’s Dishwasher Basket and WOW – this has been a GAME CHANGER! If you have a dishwasher, ditch the hand washing and pair the Dr Brown’s Sterilizer with the Dr Brown’s Dishwasher Basket – that combo has saved us so much time in our daily baby prep routine (~30 min) in addition to helping me regain my sanity … the anti-colic mechanism is genius but the Dr Brown’s bottle parts are SO tedious to hand wash!! IYKYK.In summary, if you exclusively use Dr. Brown’s bottles, this sterilizer is one of the only options that truly fits the tall narrow bottles and works well. However, since it doesn’t wash bottles, you’ll still spend time cleaning them separately before sterilizing. It’s reliable and effective, but if you want a more hands-off approach, an all-in-one bottle washer/sterilizer might be a better choice but if that’s not an option, get the Dr. Brown’s Dishwasher Basket with the Dr. Brown’s Sterilizer to simplify your routine.

MUST HAVE, probably the best purchase I’ve made this year.
Saves so much time! I don’t have to spend 15 minutes drying bottles or attachments anymore.Just load it up and press start. Sanitizes for about 15 min and dries for about 45min.I can get a bunch of other things done while these are drying. Best purchase !

Use and effectiveness
Saves me so much time when I need to sanitize and dry bottles and works great for drying my pump parts between pumps. Gives me piece of mind so I know that I don’t have to worry about bacteria growth on bottles and pump parts.

7/10 somewhat recommend
I’ve tried different types of water and the only water that leaves less water residue is bottled water, I tried tap, distilled, and filtered water the only way the water residue was minimal/non existent was wiping everything down in between uses and using bottled water, the metal plate is getting alittle rusty after a few uses but after 3 months everything is still going strong

Couldn’t survive newborn stage without this!
We would not have survived without this. Easy to use and clean, quality is great! Small enough to fit in a small kitchen. Beeps to alert you it’s done. Can use the option to just dry or just sanitize or use auto and it does both!

Great for work
Saved my life at work. I kept it at work so when I pumped I cleaned my stuff and sterilized it in the microwave instead of taking it home every night to clean. Holds a lot, great quality, easy to use.
