It may KP your M1 Mac on wake-from-sleep.
TL;DR: M1 Mac mini. May KP on wake-from-sleep. Does not happen on Intel-based Macs. Apple-branded dongle works fine on both. Your mileage may vary.--We have oodles of Macs in my house, all the way from PPC to M1 (Apple Silicon). I am currently typing this on my beloved M1 Mac mini. For reference, I have the Apple-branded Multiport USB C to HDMI adapter, a BBY "Insignia" multipart clone (USB C to HDMI + USB 3.0), and the practical Amazon-branded one I am writing this review. When I bought the mini, I used the Apple-branded Multiport USB C to HDMI adapter (also sold on Amazon); it's not cheap but works the very best of any dongle. No problems, two (2) screens, wake from sleep without a hiccup, etc. In short, no issues. The M1 really doesn't like the Amazon-branded model. If you are simply plugging it in for a few minutes, it should work fine; however, if you plan to sleep your Mac or let it sleep on its own, that's where the fun begins. The "wake" function either appears to be non-functional or has issues with wake commands because theOn Windows-based machines, it will come up as a "billboard device" but works OK. On the Intel-based MacBook Pro, it works but takes a bit longer to wake the screen. Sometimes, I have noticed that the display isn't always clear on the Amazon dongle, regardless of which machine I am using.I decided to try the Amazon dongle because I needed my Apple-branded one for another project. Unfortunately, I noticed within a day or two the kernel panics on wake-from-sleep. I disconnected the dongle, no issues for days. I switched back to the Apple-branded dongle, and the machine worked fine.On my Intel MacBook Pro, it works probably 95% the same as the Apple-branded dongle; the exceptions would be "wake" (it takes several seconds vs. almost immediate with Apple dongle) and image clarity. The Amazon dongle wills sometimes go "out of focus" on my Acer screen, very slightly but noticeably. In fairness, I've seen this with the BBY dongle on another monitor but never/not yet with the Apple-branded model. In short, I think you get what you pay for, and it's better to go with the Apple model if you want a trouble-free experience, especially on an M1 model.

Works as Claimed Detailed Review Below.
To begin with Amazon's delivery was quite fast and I received the product in 2 days time although I am at a far flung location. Before proceeding any further you should remember that it only works with phones with 3.1 USB speeds and Slimport and not just every other Type - C phone. Now coming to the product, I am using it with my LG V30+ with my Sony TV and it is exactly what I hoped it to be byt doesn't work with my LG G6 due to its missing Slimport standard. Below are its Pros and Cons.Pros-No input lagGreat Picture Quality which can be modified to your preference with your Monitor /TV's display settings. No deterioration in sound or motion quality.Everything you do on your device is projected exactly as you see it on your device including YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video.Thereby Turns your Phone into.a small powerful CPU once you connect some wireless peripherals.Cons-Biggest Con is that if your phone has a 18:9 ratio screen like mine it will show up exactly like that on the TV. i.e even though native 16:9 content should show up as full screen on the 16:9 TV it will instead show up with a frame of small black bars around it, be it YouTube or Netflix. Using zoom or wide mode on you TV wont solve itInstead of changing your Phone while connected to the display as many might infer to be the case, instead it takes up quite a decent amount of your Phone's battery to project your display. So charge your phone before a long movie session. The Wire is quite short so you will have to sit next to your phone like a PC on a table to multitaskFinally here are some workarounds for youIf you have your videos downloaded on your phone storage then you can get rid of the black bars by using android VLC app to play the video, it also darkens your phone display thereby saving Battery life if you have an OLED phone screenAnd finally getting a long hdmi cable can help you to manage your TV from your dammed couchI hope this review of mine is helpful in clearing your doubts regarding this product. I decided to bear through in writing this long review as I had many doubts before buying it and there was nothing of such a review to help me at that time. Cheerio and Good Day. !

Bought for Samsung DeX
Bought this for my new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in order to use the Samsung DeX feature.Works great and outputs as intended. Have yet to test it on a 4K display but I don't really see the need for such a portable solution to computing.
