John Denver: Country Boy

Got this for my sister who cried and went into mourning when John Denver died. She played his music steady and exclusively for a week. (Tried to convince her to get therapy).Anyway, she enjoyed the DVD immensely.

I've seen this video on PBS a few years ago & wanted to buy it then, but didn't want to pay the pledge price plus the video price too. When I saw this, I hopped on it right away, happily adding it to my video collection. If you're a fan of John Denver's, this one's for you.

My wife loves John Denver. I've bought every video available for her, and this one is essential. Others are concerts, but this is a BBC documentary, meaning produced to highest industry standards. Made after his 1997 death crash in his own experimental plane in Monterey Bay, California, it intersperses input from those closest to him with clips of him performing his most popular songs.

Ok, so I'm like one of the biggest fans of John Denver there is. The first non-classical album I was allowed to own was of John Denver and I wore that LP out! When I saw this documentary on PBS about his life I went searching right away to find a copy. He was for sure not your cookie-cutter Country singer, and in fact didn't consider himself a "Country" singer. He sang about life, nature and had a silly side to him as well. I consider him much more of a singer/songwriter. The documentary does a wonderful job of showing you who the real John "Denver" was and it's such a shame we lost him at such a young age. Even if you're only a casual JD fan you still will love this DVD.

I caught this documentary on PBS a while back. It's currently available to stream on Amazon Prime, and I purchased the DVD as a gift for my father, who is a HUGE JD fan. The documentary covers John Denver's early years, personal life, and his rise as a recording artist and environmentalist. What the documentary really drove home for me was that JD had a way of uniting people in positive ways and he used his fame to bring attention to causes he cared about. John Denver was an amazing singer-songwriter and his music is timeless. The world could really use a little John Denver right now.

This biography tells a lot about theperformer's life, although I think there is some more to fill in. One thingI believe is that he was a great singer and entertainer who gave us a lot ofgreat music, which I hope will go on for many more decades. And he cared alot for our planet and it's environment, which I think more of us should.Happy with purchase. Recommend. Thanks.

This documentary was airing on PBS. I wanted to see it from beginning to end. It is a really good documentary and worth the few dollars that it cost. I will watch it a few more times and then probably donate it to the library. I loved it. For those of us who were teens and 20-somethings during the Vietnam War era, this documentary chronicles the life of a remarkable man who was well know during the late 1960's and through the 70' and 80's.

This a wonderful documentary about John Denver and all the fantastic songs he wrote during his lifetime. It is a great DVD that is a GO-TO musical video that leaves you smiling, full of joy and sometimes with tears that this incredibly talented man has left us. Recommended for everyone who truly loves the music and appreciates the talent of a man who left his mark on this world. He sold over 100 million records in his singing career. The DVD leaves you feeling full of happiness and wanting to watch it all over again!
