Works great & fast
This is a great laptop for the price. My husband and I own our own business and both need computers to work from home. Originally I bought myself an Asus laptop (not this one) and he bought himself a desktop. After a few months he realized my computer was so much faster than his, has less issues, and worked better with our internet. So he asked me to order him a laptop like mine because his desktop wasn't doing the job he needed. Now, I do all the bookkeeping, internet bill paying, and A LOT of processing online for our business, so I has bought myself a really expensive computer because I needed lots of space and great processing and I'm the one who does 90% of our 'office work'. So although I agreed his desktop was junk and he needed something else, I wasn't going to drop the kind of money on his as I did mine because he only uses his for monitoring our trucks gps's, updating the gps's, online shopping, checking email, and dispatching trucks. This laptop is working great for him. It looks like mine so he honestly hasn't noticed its not the same expensive one. It runs fast enough and works great so he hasn't questioned it. It is perfect for him and the amount of things he uses it for.

Great for light tasks and schoolwork on a budget.
[8/5/2019 UPDATE] The graphics driver is very much upgradable. You will have to download any updates from the AMD website instead of a driver updating program like I did years ago. Also, just yesterday it seems like my 3.5 mm audio jack has stopped working. Still trying to figure out what caused it, but it'd be a shame if it's a hardware problem. Other than that, this laptop's been holding up. I tried livestreaming on Twitch from it and it worked out fine, though latency was big (might've been an internet problem). It's still been keeping up with my daily use of it, and I'll be keeping this as my daily driver until I build myself a PC.[4/1/2018 UPDATE] I'm not sure what problems everyone's been having with the laptop not working after a year or less. I've been using this laptop for a little less than two years now and things have been running smoothly. I will say that I have had experiences of the laptop rebooting on its own suddenly, usually to install a Windows update. Perhaps it's just a Windows issue. It tends to run a bit warm when under a heavier workload such as when playing games, but that's to be expected. I'm still using this laptop as my main computer and still enjoy using it for what it is.---This laptop has been my daily driver for a little over a year now, and my overall experience with it has been great. I bought this mainly for schoolwork, presentations, and web browsing with a bit of light gaming on the side.I opted for the 1TB HDD because I was looking for more space than speed. If I had the 256GB SSD, I'd already be out of storage on this! The ports available on the computer fit my needs as well. I could connect my laptop to school projectors for presentations via VGA, stream to my TV via HDMI, and the CD/DVD drive came in handy for submission of projects and disk media consumption.Battery life isn't anything to brag about. I can get about 3 hours at best even with battery saver on, but it's not too much of an issue for me since I have this plugged in most of the time. One thing I would like to comment on is the charger. I find it inconvenient that the heavy brick is the part that is actually plugged into the socket. I prefer the usual laptop charger comprised of the charging brick and a cord going into the socket, but at least this is two pronged instead of three, making this a bit more friendly when used internationally.Don't expect to run heavy games on this as the graphics aren't that great (I tried to play some Overwatch on this and even on the lowest setting it wasn't playable). Steam games, however, will work just fine. I was able to get a free game because of the Radeon R6 in the machine, so that's a bonus. Also like a previous reviewer said, updating the graphics driver will render your device unusable! If you get this issue, put your laptop in recovery mode to restore it to a date before the update. Long story short: don't update your graphics driver. The trackpad is mediocre at best, but it's not much of a problem for me as I use an external mouse. The keyboard is okay, and to those complaining about the frame of the keyboard going down when you type, it's barely noticeable and for me at least isn't a deal breaker. My only problem is that the F11 key occasionally gets stuck, which is inconvenient as this is the same key used to lower the volume, but that might just be on my device.Overall, I'd recommend this laptop for students or anyone who needs a fully functioning laptop on a budget. Sure, it's not the best laptop on the market, but it gets the job done. If you're looking for a gaming computer or heavy photo and video processing, look elsewhere.

Expensive - not value for money; Go with Intel Laptops
Purchased on April 3, 2016 - Reviewing after exactly 1 year: ASUS has removed this machine from their website - so you can't download drivers from ASUS Support page.AMD Radeon R6 lacks Driver support from AMD; New driver bricks the card and leave in no-boot condition. I have reinstalled Windows OS thrice already and every time driver upgrade for this card it breaks this machine. Its not one version of driver, I have tried three different versions from AMD.com and Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Published driversSound Quality 2.5 / 5HD Display quality 3/5Description says its with 802.11 AC, but that not true, you get only 802.11a/b/g/n.AMD 1.8 GHz A10-8700P Claims 10 Compute cores with 4 CPU and 6 GPU; This is a myth that its performs well with 10 compute cores. I have another machine with INTEL® CORE™ i3-5010U and it runs faster and better driver support from Microsoft and Intel.
