I've been using PiViTs for over 20 years and have found them to be extremely effective and versatile tools. Alas, my original one from circa 2005 grew legs and walked off a jobsite recently... I therefore bought a new one on Amazon. I noticed that various Chinese companies are selling knock-off versions of them for lower prices. I chose to go with the original American-made PiViT though. It's a tool that is often employed in dangerous situations, and I would rather trust my safety to a product that I know works and won't fail instead of to some dubious foreign counterfeit version.

Purchased this for my husband, great idea! He no longer looks all over for tools & keeps batteries charged much easier. Easy install, made him happy!

I own a seamless gutter company and have 2 of these that we use on an almost daily basis. From leveling an extension ladder on uneven ground or with a multi position ladder on roof top doing dormers.

We have avoided trying to paint the stairway that goes down to our walkout basement because we did not know a safe way to reach it with a ladder. We found this product and were able to set up ladders safely and securely to complete the job.

Very sturdy, rubber grips are good and not cheap made, used it on garage roof 4/12 pitch with shingles, not sure about other materials such as metal or tile. Make sure your steps are very close to level on ladder u will be climbing and centered in ladder pivot, keep objects away from areas when stepping down, safety first. Price is good well built.
