OSD Audio 6.5" in Ceiling Speaker Pair 150W, Trimless Magnetic Grille, Pivoting Tweeter, Paintable Grille ACE640

These are great for surround speakers. One speaker had a slight crackle with certain frequencies when I first bought them, but when I reached out to customer service, they promptly sent me a replacement. They sound great, look great, and aren't crazy expensive. Not sure how they would sound as your main speakers since that's not how I use mine, but I know others have.

Super clean looking speakers. Very small foot print and minimal bezel. Magnetic cover which is miles better than the old mesh tucked in to a ring. Sound is impressive for their size. I use them in a 5.1 set up for surround and music. Even a 4” for the center channel does the job fine. My recommendation is to get the adjustable Milwaukee hole saw. I used this and it cut perfect holes. It also has a dust catcher for ceiling install. You have to be careful with cutting since the bezel is tiny. Quality seems great. Not a paper cone which was important to me. Wish list would be star bit screws for tightening down on the drywall. Phillips slip sometimes. Less chance of damage to the cone. Other than that these are a winner for the $$$

The build quality is great. The sound is perfect. I am very pleased with the sound and look, the wife loves the trim less design. The best part is the price, very affordable that doesn’t break the bank! Yes I know they are no HiFi speakers, but for my use very worth it. I highly recommend them!!

We recently had a new home built and at the advice of my builder I decided to pre-wire it for home audio before the drywall went up. I consulted with a couple of retail outfits and got quotes from both. I was really taken back at what it would have cost to go with the systems they quoted, so OK, regroup. I ran across OSD on Amazon and they had good reviews so I planned out my system and pulled the trigger. MAN am I glad I went this route! I was really only looking for quality sound at low volume throughout the house and on the patio. I wound up with MUCH better sound than I was expecting Here is what I went with: 8" OSD cieling mount pairs in living rm, dining rm, kitchen, master bed rm and patio. 6" OSD cieling mount in master and guest bath. OSD volume controls on each pair respectivly, probably could have gotten away with gouping kitchen, LR and DR on one control but what the heck right? I am driving all of these speakers with Dennon DRA-800H and added a Polk 10" sub to the system. This is a two chanel system for stereo only, was not trying to create a theater set up with this system as we have a sepperate room for that downstairs. I do however have a blueray player hooked up to this Dennon and if I choose I can use the home system while playing movies and it does sound really good even though its just stereo. Bottom line, at the cost of these speakers compared to some of the other brands that were quoted to me I am extremely impressed with the sound. Decent base even with the sub turned off, very good mid range, good highs and more than enough volume than I will probably ever use. If we ever move again I would not hesitate to replicate this system all over again. It might be my favorite feature to my new home. Great work OSD! Theater system review coming, all Polk & Dennon.

I'm really mad at these because of the cheap anchors. I needed them for a very nice porch we just put in, and I'm sure they sound great, but I can't get them mounted properly in the ceiling. The anchors go crooked once you start screwing them in. I have now BROKEN 7 of the 8 screw mounts trying to get the speakers in and out, using screwdrivers to pry off the plastic pieces so I can get them back out, fix them and try again. The first problem is the anchor is loose in the sheath at the anchor end - the second is the screw is too tight in the screw-hole so it's easily stripped. These two problems force the screw to go out crooked every time and break various plastic pieces. I wasted 4+ hours on one pair these today because I really wanted them to work. I now have broken pieces everywhere and not sure I can get them working at this point. I've also got gouged ceilings around the holes, from trying to remove them without breaking them.

I got the speakers so that I can replace the tool Vizio speakers that came with my surround sound system from Costco. Not a whole lot of information out there if these would be great replacements, but they did the trick! The sound is good, and it connected to my surround-sound perfectly. Would buy again!

I have an old 5.1 surround system with small speakers and a sub. The receiver died some time ago so I replaced it recently with a 7 channel receiver for a 5.1.2 setup and was looking for a small pair of speakers to install in my acoustic tile ceiling. It is a low budget system but now I can enjoy Dolby Atmos movies and music better.

Like most people I felt compelled to buy more commonly known speakers. I knew nothing about this manufacturer. I was using Harmon bookshelf speakers with a HK receiver. I grew tired of seeing visible speakers and wanted a cleaner look. So based on the specs, the price and flush fit I took a chance on these speakers. Installation was way easier than I feared. The final look was exactly what I desired. The most important aspect was the performance, wow! They handle power with clean reproduction even at high volume and I hear amazing details I previously did not. Don't hesitate and dont go for higher priced competitors.

I have installed these as 2 x Front, 2x Center, 2 x surround and 2 x back speakers in the ceiling. These speakers sound true to life. Cosmetically these are very hi tech looking so I haven't put the grill mesh on.

not premium sound stuff but good for the price. Put in our trailer and perfect.

What was delivered did not have anything in common with what is pictured or described. Promised in description: Contour switches for bass and treble. Actual: No contour adjustment switches. So no treble or bass adjustment Power handling promised in description: 150W. On the box received: 90W Frequency response promised in description: 38Hz to 22Khz. On the box received: 45Hz-20Khz. Sensitivity promised in description: 91db. On the box received 89db. The circuitry as pictured is completely different as well. Just a cheap pair of windings and one tiny capacitor. The wire terminals are completely different than pictured. Wimpy small connectors that cannot handle thicker gauge wire. Promised polypropylene woofer in description. Actually fibreglass woofer. To say I am annoyed is to put it mildly. This is going back to Amazon. What was delivered is completely unacceptable.

Highly recommended speaker for the price. I compared this to many of the speakers at the chain stores, and this speaker for the price is definitely worth it!
