***USED TO BE GREAT
amazing. arrived promptly and in good condition and in truth, is the best pain relief product ive ever bought.ive had migraines since i was a small child and i used to fill ziploc bags with ice water and lay on them to help relieve the pain. later i started using hot/cold ice bags as they dont leak and are all around better. but the fact i had to lay on them or hold them in place was frustrating as i, even in the worst pain, tend to still need to do something at some point - so goes daily life.this item allows me to do this. wraps around the head, hands free and provides the right cool comfort. it stays cold for quite a while, and even at its most solid state is still malleable enough to wrap. the cold is never too intense and it doesnt leak or sweat or even wet my hair as it warms over time. i can even sometimes avoid taking my prescription medications for migraine while using this, as time and cool treatment and relaxation will ease the pain - if not entirely, to a manageable pain level. even those times i have to take my meds, this is a massive relief while i wait.i can sit at computer and continue to work with this item and it doesnt slip, fall, or get in my way, and its light en ough that it doesnt strain my neck.*EDIT* as of 2019 I have decided to purchase another and I am massively disappointed!! The size and quality is much diminished, atrociously so. Thank goodness i have two older ones that still work well enough and aren't work out because the 2019 version is utter garbage by comparison. The new models cloth is rough, cheap, uncomfortable and disappointing, the ice gel pack is half the thickness, 4 inches shorter in legnth and does not freeze properly or hold cold as long; the whole thing is uncomfortable and improperly sized and a waste if money. It should be half the current price because it's HALF the product it used to be. Don't spend more than 5 usd on this anymore since it's a cheap imitation of itself.

Great product!
Excellent for migraine headaches, stiff neck, and sore shoulders. It's a plastic sleeve about the size and shape of my arm, filled with squishy gel that can be heated in a microwave oven or in hot water, or you can freeze it. It slips inside a washable outer case (sort of like a pillowslip) with Velcro on the ends, so you can wrap and fasten it snugly around your head, neck, jaw, leg, or whatever, or drape it across your shoulders. Ahhh, what a relief it is! I bought one of these at least five years ago and have used it many, many times, and it has held up admirably. It's the first thing I grab when I'm getting a migraine. Very highly recommended.I use it hot, not cold. When it first comes out of the microwave, it's almost too hot to touch. It helps to wrap it in a small towel to protect your skin, and this will also keep the gel pack hot (or cold) longer. If you get nausea with a migraine, try drinking peppermint tea. It works way better than any other remedies I have tried. After the peppermint settles your stomach, take two ibuprofen tablets (Advil) with black tea (okay to add sugar and milk). Massage your face, especially the hinge of your jaw, and the soles of your feet, preferably with a gentle electric massager. Weirdly, it's also helpful to munch on frozen peas.PS: When my horse bowed a tendon on her leg (similar to a sprained ankle), this gel pack really helped her recover! Normally you would soak the leg in a bucket of very hot water for at least an hour. Since it was about 10 degrees outside, with a cold wind also, that was not feasible. I heated the gel pack in the microwave, wrapped a small towel around the horse's leg, strapped the hot gel pack on, wrapped that with a large bath towel, and tied it all on with twine. It was quite effective. The gel stayed pretty hot for 30-45 minutes, despite the cold weather.

Migraine Life Savers
I suffer from a chronic, intractable migraine disorder - which means that I have had a migraine every single day for almost 20 months now. I have tried every treatment, test, drug, nerve block and botox injections, hospitalizations for IV DHE and IV lidocaine treatment - nothing has worked. I am (sort-of) managing with a pain management doctor and lots of pain meds, although this is the very last resort as most neurologists think pain medications actually make the migraines worse in the long run, and I don't want to be on narcotics all the time. However, since nothing else has worked and I've been through the ringer trying everything possible, I am stuck in this holding pattern for now. These ice packs are a life saver, and I swear, they work better than the narcotic pain meds at reducing the pain most of the time. I have about 8 of them that I keep in a big freezer and switch out every hour or so, since I basically have to have these on all day in order to control the pain and it definitely helps to not have to take as many pain meds.I would absolutely recommend these for anyone with migraines or headaches - they strap on and conform to your head, so they aren't clumsy and don't require holding them on your head like regular ice packs, and, compared to other similar brands, these get really really cold, while still being (somewhat) bendable, and stay cold for the longest out of any gel ice packs that I've tried.
