Q: Will it work on common prescription bottles?

No, it does not. I tried it on multiple prescription labels from different pharmacies and they all rubbed right off. I even tried leaving it to sit overnight, but the ink never dried. It will however work on your hands. If you're planning to use it on prescription bottles, save your money and look for another product.

Q: How do you refill the ink?

hi there, There is a hole on the one side of the roller that allows for ink to be added for refill.

Q: If you take a black Sharpie or other black permanent marker and cover the stamped/rolled area, will the identifying information show through?

Depends on the paper/plastic you are trying to cover. On paper a Sharpie will work, but on plastic bags/shipping bags, the marker does not always cover the printing very well. And this product is not very good because the ink seems water soluble and smears easily and does not cover permanently
