Organic Lettuce & Greens Kit

Great kit with wonderful directional information for you planting, growing and maintaining the plants. LOTS of seeds, I was impressed. With 5-7 seeds used to plant initially, I was given enough to repeat this process probably 6 or 7 more times. All 6 pots already have sprouted and look great!

Everything about Spare to Fork from the packaging to the customer service is of extremely superb quality!! I looked for an authentically organic garden kit and this is the only company I've ever found that doesn't just say "organic" they actually are Certified Organic. I'm happy to purchase from a family-owned business and I'm excited to recommend Spade to Fork to all my friends and family!! I'm also glad I won't have to look around anymore because I'll be buying all my kits from them for myself and it'll make for a great gift on birthdays and holidays.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my mom and I wasn't sure she was going to like it since she's not really into gardening, it's really my thing. But she always makes requests for me to grow in my garden. So I bought this for her because she's a big salad/green eater. I find them a little hard to grow outside because I always get caterpillars. Well she loved it! She was so excited to start it that the day after Christmas she opened it up and started choosing her seeds. So I'd say this present was a success. Im willing to buy again in the future but with different veggies for more experimentation.

El resto sobre la botánica, desde la semilla hasta la planta, los componentes para la siembra y cuidado, fueron vitales para la enseñanza. Ahora la niña que recibió ese regalo, entiende la importancia de la agricultura y el valor del agricultor en la sociedad. Fue tal el impacto, que su maestra le pidió que diera una charla a sus compañeros de salón y fue muy aplaudida.

Returned - everything was beautiful - presentation, the look, would have been very giftable EXCEPT the picture shows a lot of seeds, nope only 5 in some of them - when asked because I thought the set was defective - here was what they said - really???? Show that in the pictures then to be honest. If you look at the first picture, it shows tons of spinach seeds, nope... Arugula: 5-6 seeds Spinach: 6-8 seeds Loose Leaf Lettuce: 5-6 seeds Kale: 5 seeds Red Romaine: 5-6 seed

Okay, it's a beautifully packaged kit, but my lack of knowledge about gardening really shows through here, and the description that it makes a good gift for "moms on mother's day, dads on father's day) led me to believe that it can actually be USED in May/June. A LOT of the US is well over 70 degrees by that time, so when I gave it to my mom for her mid-May birthday, imagine my embarrassment when I had to say, "Well, it's FOR your birthday, you just can't use it for another 4-5 months." I feel there should be more clarity about this issue upfront, because not all of us "beginners" are in the know about what crops can be planted at what times of the year.

Having so much fun with this kit!! My greens are almost ready for transplanting. Can't wait until we can start eating them! 😊

Packaging and instructions were professional, well placed and informative. Used 2 cup sized bowls to seed them to grow inside the house. I am using a grow light bulb to help them along, so far so good. They have all sprouted with only the loose leaf lettuce looking questionable for survival
