The necessary box dimensions are?

I'm not sure that I understand exactly what you are asking. I used the Trak to create a miter saw extension wing, not a box. Of course you could consider the extension wing a 2-sided box, with one side down and the other as the fence. Each piece of aluminum rail is 24 inches long by an inch and something high. The instructions in the kit said to cut the "fence" exactly 2-1/4 inches high. That way the stops would rest at the right height on the wing and againzt the fence.Did this answer your question?

Will this work with DEWALT DWX726 Rolling Miter Saw Stand?

I have mine set up on permanent saw wings and I still notice a slight difference between the two 8' wings and the Delta 10" Slider Fence and the wing backstops 1/32" depending on moisture conditions. I think fold able would be worse than that because of the additional flexing. I do have the 2x4 backstops on the wings secured with Kreg pocket screws every 12" as well as the base supports attached to the cabinet base.
