Merry Pet Tudor Rabbit Hutch

I am so happy I made this purchase! I was a little hesitant at first based on others reviews. This arrived two days early, was clean, in great condition, all the parts were present and accounted for, it took me less than half an hour to put together by myself (I do recommend having a power drill handy). I have a pair of bonded rabbits who are sharing this penthouse - a Holland lop and an English spot, both under five pounds. I highly recommend it for smaller breeds, but for no more than two rabbits. I do recommend having an exercise pen available for daily use and also getting a mat or ceramic tiles to protect the floors if using indoor. It only took my buns a few minutes to figure out the ramp, I was worried that my older guy would have problems with it but he doesn’t seem to. I cut out the plastic divider in the second story, as the buns did begin to chew it, and it was frankly in the way and served no real purpose.This house is so adorable! I’m so happy I went with my gut and made the purchase. It looks much better in our home than our other set up did, and still takes up the same size footprint while giving the buns more space. Again, I highly recommend it!Update: It’s been a couple of weeks since my buns moved in, and it’s still an amazing buy. I went ahead and ordered a “river pebble” door mat to set the house on, as others had suggested, and it fits perfectly. Yes, the buns chewed on it a little at first but when it wasn’t “new” to them any longer they stopped. Hay is a nightmare to pick out of the crevices between the pebbles, so if this is the route you’ll take, do yourself a favor and pick up a Good shop vac, as my Dustin vacuum and Ryobi hand vacuums still don’t quite get the job done. I have always used compressed pine pellet litter, the type used in horse stalls. It’s safe for the buns, turns to sawdust when it gets wet, and it’s cheap at the feed store, only about $10 for ~3 month supply. I’ve only filled up the litter pan on the side that they can access. I have noticed that there’s a small leak in the pan where I didn’t have enough litter, and leaks to the wooden floor under the pan on the second level. That’s not a big deal, just figured I’d mention it. I’ve also put their corner litter box on the bottom level. There’s ample room in their attic for the extra toys and treats, as well as their grooming tools. Right now I have a large canister of oats, a bag of freeze dried fruit, a bag of Probios, two bags of oxbow treats, a baggie of papaya, a storage box of toys that’s about 8”x16”, and plenty of room to spare. The doors don’t perfectly line up with the locks, which had been frustrating until I got used to it. Overall I still highly recommend the purchase!Second update: a friend told me to check on the material the hutch is made out of, as many are not safe for buns. This hutch is made of CANADIAN Hemlock. Hemlock is toxic for rabbits. I’ve now had the hutch for almost four months. My buns have chewed it. I now have a third bun who had 5 kittens who are two weeks old. Mama and babies are in this hutch now and I noticed the babies chewing on it (and my hair, clothes, anything they can fit in their mouths right now). I haven’t noticed signs of illness in any of the 8 buns since having the hutch. According to ASPCA Canadian Hemlock is non-toxic to cats, dogs, and horses. There is contradictory information out there and not too much specifically on Canadian Hemlock. Just be careful.

Purchased this hutch for our Netherland Dwarf, to be used in my daughter's bedroom. It's adorable and perfect for our bunny. Went together easily, although the instructions weren't perfect it was fairly self explanatory if you have basic know how.For our small rabbit the size is perfect; it took him a few days to get the courage up to use the ramp but once he figured it out there was no problem, the ramp is a gentle angle and easy to navigate. Between the enclosed room and the upper open space are thick plastic "curtains"...I thought about trimming them off and wish I had, as he chewed them apart within a week. For an indoor bunny I don't think they were needed, maybe for the warmth outdoors? That being said, although this is a great indoor hutch and we love it, I would not use it outdoors. The bottom is open to the ground (we put ours on a heavy plastic liner). The wire is fine for our smallish indoor bunny but a more aggressive chewer may be able to work through this wire or another animal could get through it from the outside. Definitely a nice indoor cage, looks like a dollhouse or pretty piece of furniture. Also has enough storage in the top for food and toys. Overall very happy!

Adorable, easy to assemble, not recommendable for outdoor use but it will hold up fine indoors.Despite the negative reviews, I decided to go ahead with this purchase since I had first looked at this 5 years ago and I'm glad I did.Now my bunnies have a matching tudor house as I do!I made a little upgrade by not using the ceiling board that goes under the roof panels, giving them a vaulted ceiling for more room at the top.I have two bunnies: a mini and a Holland 6lbs and 3lbs.This is NOT enough space for the to exercise but I will be getting kittens soon and needed an area that they can feel safely enclosed in when they are introduced together.The bunnies' house will be inside a big pen to get exercise in and the kitties will have the bunnies' old room until they eventually are properly introduced and I will not have to worry about them not getting along when I'm not around.Note that while assembly is straight forward with clear direction and predrilled holes indicating where you need to drill in the screws, some of the screws seem to short- especially the ones for the ramps. The wood is not high quality either, but it should be fine for indoor use. The only thing you need is a drill/Phillip's screwdriver.Plenty of doors makes it easily accessible to reach the bunnies whether they are downstairs or upstairs.Overall very happy with the purchase!

I wanted to love this hutch...what with how charming it is with the Tudor styling.The reality is this: It is very cheaply made with soft woods. Therefore, grossly overpriced not to mention that less than 1 year in, our bunny, Jasmine, a mini Rex, has chewed the living heck right out of it.The wire panels have been knocked out in a couple places leading to bunny escapes🐰. Now I'm looking for a new hutch. Total waste of $.
