I really like this pole. It is sturdy and was easy to install. I didn't buy it for regular flag use. Although, can imagine that this would hold up well outside in all kinds of weather. I like that it has the rings on the flag attachments that would move to keep the flag from getting tangled up. That said, I bought this in order to hang up my mini chandeliers. I live in an apartment and didn't want to hard wire them, or have anything permanent. I wanted a black pole. This one is a beautiful black. It has a good glossy paint job and doesn't look cheap. I needed something strong and sturdy to hold the weight of my chandeliers. I also liked the 2 positions that it offers. I ended up with the horizontal position. I had originally wanted to just screw into the wall with my walldog screws, but the screws were too wide for the pole holes. Because this is a well made and heavy pole, I attached it to a small board that I painted black before attaching to the wall with my walldog screws (I love these screws- they securely screw into almost anything). I felt with the wall it was on, this would best support and attach the pole. See pictures.

I've had it up for months and it still looks like new.

Pros: Looks like SS, unsure if it is time will tell. Looks decent once put together from afar, close up you see the sections. Mount is decent quality.Cons: Thin post material, unsure how it will hold up with major wind. 5 Pieces to assemble to make 6 Ft pole, why not just a 2 piece system? Plastic flag holders versus metal, swivels that spin seem to lock up and flag still gets wrapped consistently.Next time I would spend more $ for a 2 piece pole, with SS or Aluminum swivels and heavier post material.

If you plan on flying a flag on your vehicle, put epoxy on the joints and tighten really well. A mile down the road, mine somehow unscrewed enough to lose the top half and flag. Also easily dent from the tightening knob on you vehicle mount.

Pole comes in 3 sections, I was wary at first thinking it would fall apart quickly. It has lasted a couple months mounted on my shed, and we have had a lot of windy thunderstorms.

Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the flag pole but I think the brackets are aluminium not stainless steel as advertised, they are too light but they are good quality castings with a very good finish although there is no drainage hole as the description says.The poles screw together easily and seem pretty strong.The bad news is that even after cleaning the moulding pips off and lubricating with silicon spray, the mounting rings still allow the flag to wrap around the pole, even in a gentle breeze. I have replaced the rings on one pole (I bought 2), with a pair I bought some time ago, and the difference is marked. Right now the flag with the original rings is wrapped arount the pole but the other is blowing free with no tangles. EDIT, I have found that with a proper heavyweight sewn flag, the mounting rings work perfectly.

So the item is easy assembled, well made & looks nice.The down side is the plastic clasps that attached the flag to the pole,they constantly get snagged which means the flag stops and wraps around the pole.Ive had to alter mine to stop this happening.
