iPod Touch (5th Gen/6th Gen/7th /Gen) Defender Series Case - Coal, Rugged & Durable, with Port Protection, Includes Holster Clip Kickstand

Although I love my iPod Touch, I am not much of a fan of the super thin trend as I find it hard to hold onto the thinner phones (and this Touch). After dropping the Touch half a dozen times, I thought that a case would be a good way to both protect the Touch and make it easier to hold. Since I like the Otterbox on my Note 5 so much, I thought I'd try it for the Touch. This is another great product. On the plus side, the dual case system is really, really solid, with great fit and finish, and superb attention to detail. All of the cutouts are positioned exactly right, the buttons are just a tiny bit harder to push (which is a plus as it prevents accidental presses). I also liked the screen protector built into the inner half of the case system. It provides decent protection from scratches, and still provides good touch and feel with the screen. Most importantly for me, this makes the iPod much easier to hold, with a nice, slightly rubbery feel. I haven't dropped the iPod once wince I got it, but I know it will provide great protection if I do drop it again. The only real negative I can find with the case is that it seems to allow a bit more dust between the screen protector and the Touch screen, although it isn't horrible.. I'd buy Otterbox for any device I own, and on balance, I think this was the perfect case for my iPod Touch.

This case is amazing. I originally had an iPod Touch 3rd gen and had an Otterbox Defender case for that, and as I have upgraded both, I can safely say that their cases have improved just as much as the iPod itself! Doing away with the rubbery design, the Defender series is now made of a much more solid rubber that feels comfortable and slip-free. Perhaps my favorite perk of the solid rubber is the tear-resistant and much better fitting lightning port and headphone cover flaps. The inside shell is also much easier to take off than the previous design due to the improved snaps. The only problem I have with this case is the inevitable watermarks I get on the screen from the built-in screen protector, but it's a small price to pay for the amount of protection offered. Overall, the Otterbox Defender Series is a beautiful, surprisingly thin case that offers great protection for your iPod. I highly recommend using it if you wish to keep your iPod safe without sacrificing style and sleekness.

This is my second otterbox they are well built and for perfectly. My touch is now shielded from any harm should I drop it. Nice rubber, easy to grip.

The otterbox is regarded as the best case you can get for your iPod or iPhone (maybe the LifeProof case can beat it ,but I haven't tried it). The otter box is a 2 case. The first case lets you protect it if it hits the ground or any rough surface. It is good because it would damage your iDevice in any way. The otter box's second case is a nice leathery kind of case. It wraps around the iDevice and protects it from dirt and such. It has a nice screen protecter built in ,so it keeps the iDevice looking fresh. The otter box is stylish and I use it everywhere I go. It's kind of heavy though. I like it because I know if it's in my pocket or not. This is good for me because it lets me know if I lost my iPod. The otterbox is a great case ,but the price is steep for a case. If you can find it for the $25 - $35 range this case is a steal.

It protects the iPod very well. It has an inner shell case with a built-in screen protector that completely enclosed the iPod. On top of this case, there is has a hard rubber enclosure which keeps the inner enclosure in place and which provide excellent overall protection against external shocks. It looks good, does not make the iPod bulky, and provides a good grip to minimize the chance of slipping from your hand. Some reviewers complained about dust get under the screen protector. I have not noticed dust accumulation yet but it is not that difficult to occasionally remove the hard rubber shield and clean the iPod screen and the underside of the Otterbox screen shield. The major complaint I have is that Otterbox screen shield isolates the unit from the user too much. First the rigidity of the screen protector and the air gap below it make the unit a bit insensitive to the touch (especially along the edges) and it often requires multiple presses to launch apps. Another reviewer apparently cut out the screen protector. I might consider doing that and replacing it with a Tech Armor screen protector. That should also solve any potential dust problem. Second, the physical buttons can be rather difficult to push. The home-screen button is not that difficult to push; but the on/off button and the volume buttons require some effort. But given the protection it offers, the Otterbox case is still highly recommended. **UPDATE (6/27/2014)** I removed the OtterBox's screen protector (It's just glued in and comes out without any damage.) I replaced it with the Tech Armor screen protector. Great improvement! No dust accumulation, clearer view, and better response to touch. Only possible downside is slight decrease in screen protection when dropped.

I have tried other, cheaper products and I can say with certainty, it is worth spending more money to get a quality case. I put a glass screen protect on my ipod before i put it in this case. The case has a thin plastic screen cover, but i am more on the cautious side and would rather replace the glass screen protector than the actual ipod screen. It works well with the glass protector on it. I have no issues. I hope that i do not drop my ipod touch (6th gen) but if i do, I feel that by having it in this case I have given it all the protection I can. I am sure the case is NOT waterproof. Don't drop it in the pool or hot tub! But, other than that, I am very happy with my purchase.

This iPod case is great as are most of the OtterBox cases. This is a beefy case and fits my iPod Touch perfectly. The one thing I didn't like about it is the built in screen protector. It is flimsy and loose (doesn't lay flush). It is held onto the case with glue around the edge, so I just pulled it off and put on an Omoton Glass Screen Protector on my iPod.

I bought this case after i dropped my previous iPod and smashed the screen. I did some research and decided to go for the OtterBox as the reviews were positive. The case itself is well made, sturdy and fairly easy to fit. It also comes with a screen protector which is actually pretty responsive compared to others I've used. The iPod charging port is well protected with its own little flap. Bluetooth isn't impacted in anyway when the case is fitted so connection to headphones or speakers is good. The case is robust but with a very slight element of give, almost sponge like which is both tactile in the hand, easy to grip and adds to the protection should you drop it. A really good case and pleased I bought it.

Habe es auf einen iPod Touch 5G montiert und es hielt einen Test mit Sand und etwas Feuchtigkeit problemlos stand. Sicherlich trägt es etwas auf, da vor allem beim iPod Touch die Gehäuseform noch flacher ist, als beim iPhone. Dennoch ist das Teil hervorragend geschützt und wird auch Stürze geringer Höhe überstehen.

Excellent case. Tight fit to put on my iPod touch 6 but all openings, etc., line up absolutely perfectly. Slight loss of touch screen sensitivity but you gain a lot of protection and water resistance over open-face cases. Buttons do require some extra force to push since they are covered by the case but this is no different than a different brand case on my phone. Only caveat is that some accessories (my apple lightning to 30-pin adaptor) and some docks may not work with the case on because of the extra thickness the connector has to go through and narrow width of the case opening. Regular charging cords all work absolutely fine with the case on though.
