Great Product for the price, if you have mounting hardware laying around already
Like the one-star reviews said, it doesn't have any mounting hardware or instructions. This is a HORRIBLE reason to leave a one start review... It's meant to be general use, so any mounting hardware would likely be useless for many setups. I'd much rather not pay for something I'm not going to use. And the lack of hardware is likely one of the main reasons this product is so much cheaper than the alternatives.Same deal with the short USB cable - you can always extend a cable, but you can't shorten it. In my case, the short cable worked perfectly, and even if it didn't, I've got extra cables lying around. As a budget option, shorter cable = lower price. The next cheapest options are all in the range of like 75-100 dollars... I'd much rather use a spare piece of wood and some drywall screws that I had lying around than spend the extra 15-40 bucks. For someone who isn't looking to go pro and just wants a budget setup for some casual fun, this is the perfect option. The build quality is pretty great too, given only a couple hours of use. It is high quality steel construction held together by nuts and bolts. The spring on the break itself gives really good feedback and feels responsive and durable.Lastly, the device is plug-and-play, so I'm not even sure what you'd expect from instructions if they were included. Bolt it down, plug it in, and go. It's that simple. All around great BUDGET item. They cut costs in all the right places, while retaining what counts - usability and build quality.

Before you buy
DOES NOT COME WITH MOUNTS!.I even bought a mount for both shifter and ebrake but it doesn’t come with bolts to hold the ebrake down.

Works for the Price
So far so good. Product is a relatively inexpensive addition to the racing sim rig. Was able to mount to my rig using two M8 bolts and T-Nuts. Unfortunately, for the 2 mounting holes I used, I had to drill them out to fit the M8 bolt, which I knew going into it. I wish that the manufacturer would cut their mounting holes just a hair bigger, but since it was clearly stated in the listing, that is not something I can hold against them.Other than that, the product is as advertised - plug and play. As an aside, the rear plate can be removed if you need to mount in an awkward position, which I was able to take advantage of when mounting it to my rig. Only other thing of note is that you’ll want to tighten the handle mounting bolts before using the product as mine came a bit loose out of the box. Other than that, so far so good.

Not sure why everyone thinks this junk is good.
So this style is the most popular you will see around right now. For those of you that aren't into cars and don't know, this was actually made as a hydraulic brake to be used in a real car. Somewhere along the lines a Chinese manufacturer started outfitting them with a cheap chip set hot glued into place. If you take the front plate off these things you can install a real hydraulic cylinder and put it in a car. So my point being, this is not purpose built for use as an electronics device. So it's just been crudely adapted. As in my pic, the wire isn't secured and will break if you're not careful. The handle is a joke with a poor shape and just a thin piece of foam wrapped around it, its uncomfortable and this thin foam wont last. I got this one with no adaptor plate or clamp, no hardware either, for $62. I'm sending it back. It's feels crappy and looks like a joke.If you just want a handbrake I'm sure this will do fine for you, just make sure to secure the usb wire. But for me, I'd rather spend $100 and get something of quality that was actually made to be a usb handbrake, not just outfitted to be used as one.Update: it's trash. It shows 100% when you pull the handle back about 95% then when you max out the pull it shows 93%. So the sensor doesn't read properly which screws you up during gameplay. Sending it back.

Works, but not great
Definitely not a terrible handbrake, it works but it does feel a little sloppy and bolts will come loose on you unless you crank them as tight as you can. For the price point it’s not bad but if you want something better, spend the extra cash.

Yeah! Now we're rally racing.
It's recognized as an Arduino Leonardo, and in the "joy.cpl" app on windows, it shows goo-gobs of extra unconnected buttons. Maybe it could be modified to serve as a button box too. Not sure. But as a handbrake for rally racing sims, it's awesome. It's solid and mounts up very well to the rig. The handbrake function is also a joystick axis (analog), which is nicer than just a digital on-off. Very happy racer here.

it works
It works with the game I bought it for, Torque Drift. its base is solid.. the foam handle is eh.. but it works for what it was made for. budget sim build? this is it.. you can spend more money on something that will do the same thing. The only downside to this hand brake? It wont work as a parking brake engage in American Truck Simulator, which again, it probably wasnt made for that.
