Very good if you're not near Korean market
This is the seaweed that I eat with rice when I live with my mom in Los Angeles. There is no Korean market here, so she helped me find this online. In my opinion this is the best seaweed, you can eat it as a snack too if you want. One pack of this and a bowl of any medium grain rice and it feels like home.

#1 on my list
The photo shows the seaweed brands I've tried in order of preference.Jayone: crisp and lightly salted. Delicious at a bargain price. These are great with a meal or just to satisfy those evening cravings. I also cut them up and take them to the theatre in place of popcorn. These are a tiny bit saltier than the gimMe brand.gimMe: very similar if not quite as salty as the Jayone, just a little more expensive and slightly more oil. They seem to flake a little more than the Jayone, but are still very good. I do like having the option to buy 10g trays or 5g trays for taking along as a snack or addition to a meal.Black Label Gourmet: driest and least salty of the bunch, but still a nice crunch. A little different flavor because they're roasted with olive oil instead of sesame or sunflower. They taste a little less sea-like and a little more earthy. These are the ones I like to use to roll salmon or tuna.Wickedly Prime: I can't recommend these at all. Though they supposedly have less salt than a couple of the other brands, they are terribly greasy and taste so salty I couldn't eat them; neither could my family. The only thing I can think to do with them is rinse them and re-roast them to see if they improve. Definitely not worth buying.

Great Low Sodium Option!!!
AII SO BOOM, I hear y’all talking in the comments about this being number one and imma have to say— hold on. I love seaweed. The quintessential snack or topping on rice. This is the bee’s knees for you non-asian folk. My favorite brand is the Kirkland one because 1) they have like 30 sheets of seaweed per pack like it’s PACKED, per little package. 2) it’s saltier (I prefer my seaweed generously seasoned). 3) it’s cheaper. But you see, I live nowhere near a Costco so amazon will just have to do. So, back to these, the seaweed is great! Fresh, the perfect amount of crunch, light and crispy, the perilla leaf oil DOESNT interfere with the taste. I am not a big fan of perilla leaves in Korean dishes or in general but the oil is great. No funky after taste. This seaweed is lightly seasoned! Very low amount of salt without compromising the umami! In fact, I think the Umami flavor is very much the star of this snack! It’s great for those looking for a LOW SODIUM alternative to your favorite seasoned seaweed snack! I’d prefer it to be saltier but honestly for what it is, take my word it’s a 5-star snack. Sprinkle more salt on it if you’d like. Control your sodium tho, don’t go crazy or stupid. Eat this with plain white rice and it could honestly be a great plain little meal. I think there’s about 15 little seaweed papers/chips inside which is lacking in comparison to the KIRKLAND ONES... but I digress. Enjoy!!!!!PS: there are 24 boxes per big ass box. I got confused at first too but very well worth $11! Don’t mind my photo— I ate two packs just to let y’all know how it tastes. 🥺👉👈

Excellent Snack For Those Who Enjoy Seaweed, Tasty Accompaniment To Rice Dishes.
This Jayone Roasted and Lightly Salted Seaweed is a unique snack food, and a very find addition to rice dishes, in particular. Each packet contains a small plastic protective tray, filled with exceedingly thin sheets of the dry and crunchy seaweed. I had been curious as to how many pieces of this extremely fragile and delicate food would arrive unbroken. I am happy to report that I have not yet encountered a broken sheet of seaweed. This seaweed has a very refined taste, with a slight briny and fishy aroma and taste. There is also a small amount of a seasoned salt mixture on each slice, but it is not overwhelmingly salty. I have enjoyed eating many of these packets as a snack, the slices are incredibly thin. It is a matter of minutes to consume an entire packet. The sheets of seaweed are also an excellent accompaniment to steamed rice, lay a few pieces of this on a bowl of rice and both the taste and appearance will be improved. If you enjoy seaweed, this is a very good snack or meal suggestion for you. But, it is still definitely seaweed, and those without a liking for seaweed will probably be less than impressed by the taste. However, this is an extremely healthy snack, and it is very high in a crucial element of all diets - iodine. I can recommend this as a light, delicate and tasty addition to your diet, delivered in a very unique and interesting format.

A lot of seaweed for the price!
I bought this seaweed as a snack food not for sushi, so I can't answer any questions or have any input towards it's position in sushi or rice. I eat it like I'd eat potato chips.I don't think I understood how much seaweed I was getting for the price. I've neever had seaweed and I've never bought it in person so I had no expectations. The massive box showed up filled with a ton of snack pack sized seaweed crisps. My initial taste test of it was not great since I didn't like it too much but it eventually grew on me. If you're new to it or you're feeding it to kids, it takes a couple of tries to know if you like it or not. The packages are easy to open, just tear them like any other snacckfood, and take out the little tray full of sheets. The sheets are a little greasy from whatever processing happens, this isn't an issue at all but I figured I'd mention it. A friend of mine that eats similar products more reguarly figured they needed more salt but they are clearly labeled "Lightly salted". Avoid the moisture absorber at the bottom of each pack and you're good to go. This tasty snack will stick in your teeth and affect breath so rinsing your mouth out after eating would be advisable.Pros: Tons of seaweed for the price, Good quality and healthy snack, easy to open.Cons: Slightly greasy, can affect breath/teeth
