Awesome immobilizer
This is a great quality, sturdy but lightweight knee immobilizer. I've been wearing it daily for several weeks and it shows no signs of wear. The velcro fasteners are strong and there are stabilizers that run up and down to keep your knee from bending. The side panels are removable and adjustable for leg size. This product helped me keep my sanity after first trying to wear the super heavy brace the doctor's office sent me home in. This brace will eventually slide down if I don't fasten it snugly enough, so if I'm going to be walking around very much I attach a purse crossbody strap to keep it in place. I'm short so the 12" length was a good choice for me, however they do have longer lengths available. Obviously no one wants be in the position of having to immobilize their knee, but if necessary this is a great choice, in my experience.

Works to immobilize knee without slipping down and can still walk
I’m not sure if I have a fracture yet but it helps the pain I’ve had under my knee for about a week and a half, so I’m just wearing it for comfort for now. I’ve had other (longer) immobilizers, one that went from the top of my leg to my ankle and it was difficult to apply by myself and kept slipping down no matter how tight I adjusted it. It was also difficult to adjust the panels to fit my legs, which were much thicker almost two years ago than they are now. But this immobilizer can also be adjusted, not sure if some people aren’t aware of how these 3 panel immobilizers work, but they usually come on the smallest size and you have to separate the panels and put them back together so that they can fit a larger leg. They usually come with instructions, but I wasn’t given the instructions from the hospital when I got my first immobilizer, so it was a while before I figured it out. This one does not slide down my leg (I’m wearing it without any clothes underneath). And it immobilizes my knee and prevents the hyperextension which is something I do naturally and causes pain since I sustained some kind of injury. I’m seeing an orthopedic surgeon this week so I will hopefully have X-rays taken at the very least and get an exam that will give me an idea of what my latest problem is.

Very comfortable with great support
So far, this knee immobilizer is a tremendous relief! After a hip replacement - and dislocation - I'd been fitted for a leg brace that went from mid-thigh to my ankle. While that gave me good support during my initial recovery, at my last visit to my physical therapist , she said I didn't need to keep wearing it. In a way, that was a relief. I'd lost a lot of strength in the affected knee and - combined with the difference in my leg length, after the surgery - I had a definite limp. So, being able to use that knee again... that's great. However, I'm a long-time side sleeper. Worse, I'm accustomed to bending my knee - on the hip replacement side - and swinging it across my body, onto the bed on the opposite side. So, I needed something to nudge me _not_ to do that in my sleep, at least during the first few months of my recovery. So far, this brace seems to help. While the instructions weren't as clear or simple as I might like, the fitting process is fairly intuitive. Fitted, the immobilizer gives me just enough support I especially like how comfortable and lightweight this immobilizer is, and how easily I can put it on and remove it. That helps restore my sense of independence as I recover from not one but two successive hip injuries.

Great... velcro strap break above kneecap update
Glad I got the 14-in it really holds my left knee in place which has been rebuilt in the quad muscle and then I developed after arthritis and recurring torn meniscus and attella popping out and damage from a cheap Walmart brace with hinges, it keeps my knee from hyperextending I wish I'd have tried this 6 months ago I wear it 24 hours a day and just pull it up on the knee most of the time to get on and off the couch using a cane in the other hand for a stability and I sleep with it every night the past 5 weeks or so with the patella strap underneath it and a cheap Walmart like 7-in knee support and trying these in combination has really helped but the main thing is that this brace has kept my knee from hyperextending and allowed me to lift it up while getting on the couch and out of bed and up and down out of chairs to finally get some healing I am 57-year-old male that lives alone trying to Stave off Assisted Living or asking for help from friends family or Neighbors. Update; now June 17th and the third strap from the bottom broke right above the kneecap because it is not sewn in evidently was just glued and I used that to pull the thing up and down my leg because it doesn't stay still and I've had it on 24/7 for about 2 months now and what use that to pull my leg up on the bed or up on the chair Etc and it broke last night just came right out so I ordered another one because I have to have it but I wanted to update and say this is a design flaw and you can only return it after 30 days so I had to spend another $30 out of pocket and order another one last night which was Thursday night and it won't be here till Tuesday and hopefully the other straps won't break before then because I have to have this on my knee to keep it from dislocating or hyperextending and again I'm paying out of pocket and it's not being reimbursed driving me further in debt.

Completely adjustable, high quality brace.
I thought this was a fantastic, high-quality brace for the price. For those concerned about sizing, the thing comes apart into three different pieces (attached by super heavy duty Velcro) so you can completely custom fit to your size and shape. Instructions are included. The whole brace is padded well and the Velcro straps and buckles are large and solid. The solid support bar integrated into the back is very strong. I found this as comfortable as a straight leg brace could be, both walking/crutching around and sleeping with it on. I think having used this soon after the acute phase of my trauma has really help me heal quickly. Unfortunately I have amassed quite the collection of joint braces in the past few years. That being said, this brace is definitely a keeper and is definitely staying in my collection for any future needs (although I hope not to have to use it again).

It was the closest thing, but no cigar.
I tore my acl and needed an immobilizer (not a stabilizer)brace. When I got this brace I was very hopeful. I need something short, but can completely immobilize my knee so I could work. Let me say this brace is well made. Problem is it’s too well made. After many tries I realize this brace was just too thick and bulky, so I got to debulking. 1) I cut off the straps and metal loops. The straps have no stretch so they’re useless. They can never be pulled tight enough to keep the brace from slipping down. I figured I could use my own black stretchy Velcro wrap. 2) I cut off the trim around the entire brace. It was excess material contributing to the bulkiness. 3) I realize the padding on the entire brace is also very thick. I cut a slit on the inside to see if it would slide out. No dice. First, the inner padding and outer shell cannot be separated, and if I scraped all the padding out, the outer shell would be very thin like pantyhose. 4) Finally I concluded the reason I couldn’t get this brace to fit tightly around my leg, is because it’s too thick and has no stretch. This is why it will never stay up. Imagine trying to tie a phone book around your knee tightly with a rope. So, I gave up and used all the metal stabilizer rods from this brace to “Mcgyver” my hospital brace.

Comfortable!
OMG yes!! After an extensive and complicated knee surgery I am stuck with my leg being straight for 6 weeks. Today is the 2 week mark and the brace I was given at the hospital was awful. It is heavy, it slides down constantly and is quite frankly painful. With 4 weeks to go in the straight leg position I needed something more lightweight that would stay in place. This brace does just that! When I can bend my knee again I will have to go back to the other one, but for the next 4 weeks I am very happy that this is a safe option. Much more comfortable, much lighter and totally worth the price.
