Oliver says 'YES, may I have another. '
I bought these on sale at Walgreens Pharmacy for $3.50 for my dog, Oliver. I have always used some sort of treat (with Valerian or Chamomile) or drops to put on treats to help relax my dog. This is especially important as he's gotten older and has mild dementia and is mostly blind and deaf. Upon getting close to running out of these pills I am looking on Amazon for them to replace as they worked quite well. For my dog's weight they said to give him 1 pill, I gave him 2. Worked fine. The pills are pretty big so they can be something substantive to chew on, although they aren't "chewy." They are dry pill form about the size of a cap from a bottle of soda, probably a bit smaller. Also, Oliver gets 2 because he has a VERY bad back from having fallen off the couch various times over the years when he was bounding about, or wouldn't see the edge, or was asleep and got too close to the edge either rolling over onto the floor or just sliding off. It's caught up with him and walks with a hunch and is often times uncomfortable. The Anti-Stress pills help to chill him out so he will not be as active and aggravate his back, and if it is aggravated it helps to calm him to lay down. My dog doesn't really have the pleasures in life he used to such as running and barking and experiencing the senses. His greatest joys now are first and foremost, sleeping, eating and... Well, that's it. So he's unintentionally been conditioned such that when he is touched, which he likes, he gets a treat. This comes from years of getting treats after getting his ears cleaned or getting a bath. So given his current scope of experience is sleeping, eating and getting a treat he's narrowed the experience down to ANYTIME he gets touched he gets a treat. So, I roll with it. This wouldn't go over well for younger dogs, it would spoil them rotten. For him, he deserves it. He's 14, well beyond the Pug life expectation. In closing, I asked Oliver and he agrees these are top notch and work for him. I had come online expecting to find them for $9-10. I would have paid that just because it's for Oliver. However I find they are $5.50 and free shipping with Prime. Yahoo! I'm ordering two and crossing my fingers that I'll have the time to run out of pills before Oliver decides to exit the scene for puppy heaven. (I'll be sad but it's okay because he'll be hanging out with Wobbles, my 20 yr old cat who left us last summer). Until then I'll keep a hearty flow of Calming Tablets for Oliver.

So Good I Considered Asking My Doctor If I Can Take Them Too
I don't normally review products, but I had to give my ringing and unpaid endorsement of these tablets. I have two large, mixed-breed dogs who both have major anxiety. I don't know why. They've been with me since birth and suffered no early pup-hood traumas. But they get really nervous about a lot of different things. Every time a siren went by, a neighbor mowed the lawn, or they saw a cat, I would run out and try to calm them. Who even knows what they had to be anxious about while I was gone. So on a whim, I searched "dog calming tablets" on Amazon, saw that these were well reviewed, and gave them a shot. The first time I gave them to my big guy, Chuck, he laid calmly and watched the lawn be mowed. OUR VERY OWN LAWN. NO CRYING. So I tried them on my nervous li'l princess, Phyllis, the next day, which was Easter. When a lot of unfamiliar cars were at my house. UNFAMILIAR CARS. She was totally chill. Not a care. Since then, they've helped calm them enough to take them to the vet with less tugging, handle Memorial Day fireworks, and all the normal things that stressed them out before. Tonight, fire trucks went up the road, a neighbor was weedeating, another neighbor was having target practice (because Georgia), and the stray cats abounded (because I attract all the wild animals. Like Cinderella). ALL AT THE SAME TIME. This is like an anxious dog's nightmare. They started crying, so I went out armed with calming tablets. Now Chuck is having an after dinner nap and Phyllis is guarding her toy pig, for which she dug a special hole. These things are a life changer for your anxious puppers. If you're on the fence, it's totally worth it. Even if you only think you'll need them for storms or fireworks, definitely shell out the few bucks. Chuck and Phyllis would give them two thumbs up if they had thumbs.

Works a little - maybe takes a while to fully kick in?
Have used for a few months on a 4 year old stressed out black lab mix. We give him 3 pills daily, 1 every 6 or 8 hours. He likes the flavor and thinks they are a treat. He still has extreme separation anxiety and won't go out to relieve himself unless you walk him to the door, and encourage him to go outside but he's noticeably calmer in some ways. He's a rescue and we aren't sure of his background or what causes his stress. He seems to sleep more soundly with these pills. At times he has had food allergies and has bitten is hindquarters and licked his feet, and that seems to have lessened now as well - but I really can't say if it is due to these pills as we also just changed his food and gotten him a lot more toys. Not sure how the ingredients help, but the vet tech who recommended these to us said it was the Valerian. We have an older 11 year old pit-basset mix that this seems to relax a bit with this as well, we give him one or two when the people next door are doing construction - we don't give daily as we do with the lab. With things like this it's difficult to tell if the results are the actual product, the weather, food changes, our playing more ball with them, etc. I mean the older dog is 11, they start slowing down at that age anyway, so... There's brewer's yeast in these and that helps with fleas so for the price and the ingredients it's worth trying for a few more months to see what happens.

Good for my anxious dog
These work well for my anxious dog. She gets them before storms and before fireworks start. I don’t think Amazon carries these anymore. Wish they would.
