This is okay. It seems well enough made. I did not realize online that it's going to take up a wall socket (thought it likely was corded). That's okay. It's really noting more than a standard electronic/on and off timer switch for outlets. Nothing more and nothing less. So, it's sold as a device optimized to restart a router, daily, but you can do that with any electronically controlled timer just as well. I will put it to use, though, and see how it does. I have it set to turn off at 5am and on again at 5:01 am. Should be plenty enough to restart router. I'd rather have ability to set for once a week, but this ought to work fine. It is easy enough to set.

Those who complain it's too expensive just don't know what they're talking about. This is an awesome device. Really easy to program. Set it and forget it. It does one job and it does it extremely well: Restart your devices every night. Routers/Modem are just like that. After a while they get mixed up and they need a refresh. Some people don't even know they can restart their devices to fix problems. What do they do when there's no internet? They call their IT. A good router/modem combo will work for months without restarting anyting. But, if this thing can save one service call or one phone call, it's paying itself in 1-6 months. It saves precious time too.Plug all your devices in a surge protector (switch, router, modem, etc) (just make sure their total power is not more than 1100W) and plug that surge protector in the Tech Restarter. All the devices will be restarted every night. They weren't available for a short while on Amazon. I'm very happy they're back. I'm an IT, so I need them regularly for my customers.I give it 5 stars. I which they were ETL Listed / UL Listed. It would make lots of people feel more safe with the product. The Amazon reviews ratings would be higher also. I am about to use this unit in a commercial environment. Will provide additional comments as warranted. The functions and comments thus far are helpful. Was unable to get correct technical answers from seller. I had to open up the unit to get my battery answers.Pros: the unit has 3-prongs and two outlets Easy to program Battery Backup with NiMH battery (assumed it has a recharging circuit.) The construction appears to be high quality.Cons: Not marked UL or CSA certified C/US Country of origin not marked Rechargeable battery not easily replaced (soldered in)

I have technology deployed at several locations that does better with a periodic reboot.Although a traditional/mechanical timer would have been cheaper, I didn't want to go that way for two reasons:1. If the site loses power for longer than your battery backup lasts, your reboot schedule is now thrown off... if it happens a few times pretty soon your equipment is rebooting during production hours & you've got some upset users & a trip out to the site. This device has its own internal battery which keeps the time accurate.2. I've seen those mechanical timers spark when they switch off. Not a problem if it's turning off a lamp but not so nice when you're powering a load that is not only worth a lot of money but also is required for a business to operate. The goal is to eliminate trips to the site so going out to replace equipment after saving $3 on a timer doesn't make any sense.This little gizmo addresses both issues & it is only slightly more expensive than a decent mechanical timer. Programming was very simple - set the current time. Tell it what time to power off. Tell it what time to power on. Nice! No complexity to potentially screw things up.It wasn't totally clear to me in reading the description, but just to be clear you can leave the device off for as long as you need.

My unit came with a scratch on the display cover. It's really cheaply made too! However, it does do what it says. It didn't work for me though. I don't know why these stupid routers for home internet always stop working and need reset, but I had the same problem the very next day... The unit works but the method to keep routers working didn't work for me. I'm sure other use cases could work fine, like for lights or appliances. Overall I give it three stars because it does what it says it does, but is cheap material and didn't come in new condition.

Does exactly as advertised. Looks very solid, high quality and well made.Wish it had a delay for reconnecting after a power outage.My VoIP doesn't would not connect to the router if the router is not already up and running. So I'm using this to reset my VoIP every morning after my router reboots. It works fine unless there is a power outage which turns the VoIP on immediately after the power gets back on while the router has not completed it's power up.

The media could not be loaded.  Well this is a complete life saver for my wife and I and the tech around our house. Right now I have this hooked up in my living room connected to our Wireless Router and our Roku. Our Roku locks up almost every other day and needs to be hard reset (yes I should just switch over to an Amazon fire...i know i know) and our wireless router needs to be reset almost daily. I've got this setup to reboot at 4:50am everyday.Like:Crazy easy to setupVery solid and doesnt feel cheapSmall design that doesnt take up too much space/blocks an extra outletIt allows you to plug in two devices into itPrime shipping and price... cant beat thatDislike:Nothing much other than I wish I could program each outlet on the device individually but that is very minor.Overall if you have issues with some of your gadgets that you have to restart regularly I would highly recommend picking this up... also gets my wife off my back about having to manually restart these things daily.
