Is there an extension clip offered? My crib railing is to thick and it won't fit.

Is it possible to change the lights to a dimmer setting? When I turn it on at night, it's so bright that my baby squints and tries to cover his eyes.

Your baby is probably way past using this but we have thought of using one older not fully charged battery as its only so bright when the batteries are brand new. Haven't tried this yet though.

What is the "crib check light button" on the top right of the soother for? Directions don't say and when I press it nothing happens

When the power switch is on, that button just lights up the screen. Sometimes I will hit that while looking for a lost pacifier since it doesn't turn on all of the sounds and motion.

Would this be easy to install on the back of a seat in the car? So that a baby in a rear facing car seat can see it?

Unsafe. If you get rear ended this could go flying into your babies face and it's heavy enough. Plenty of car designed options that keep a baby entertained
