japanese precision for cheap prices
For the price youre getting japanese sharpness out of the box for a cheap price. This is a decent knife with a cool cover. A really good paring knife for many small kitchen situations

CA tool close to perfection
Sharp, perfect size and shape for its purpose, simple and utilitarian yet aesthetically pleasing. The handle is a perfect size for my size 8 (glove) hand. Will the wood handle hold up; I have my father's butcher knives, with wood (ebony and oak) handles, from the 1950's so I have great hope.

Cheap Slicy Knock-Around Kitchen Knife
Ten bucks gets you a thin little utility knife to beat on around the kitchen. This reminds me of the cheap mass produced Japanese knives you used to see in the 60's and 70's that made Americans complain endlessly about their manf. quality when Japanese quality was the Chinese quality we see today. It's not real sharp out of the package, but I fixed that by putting a great15° edge on it. I let the kids use this but it's a great knife to open plastic and do some quick slicing for me. It's straight, I love the little sheath, and I find it much better than the $40 dollar KAI that I bought a few months back which was NOT straight and has a cheap plastic handle. Don't leave it in a sink or beat it. Strop it with a good 1 micron leather strop to maintain it. If you beat it up, do you care? You paid $10 dollars for it. Looks like it could be picked up for $5 dollars at a dollar store. But it is decent when you put an edge on it. It will dull, so just make sure you can sharpen it and you can use it until someone craters it, then buy another or something expensive you don't want anyone to touch.

Best bang for the buck. Domo arigato!
It's a soft stainless steel that sharpens quickly and is light and easy to handle. There are more expensive knives that do not perform as well as this knife does.

Disappointing… bad quality in production process
Very disappointing…! I was so excited and waited for it to arrive, then the knife I received has a loose ring that supposed to hold the blade to its handle. Even though I glue it but it will come loose again as the ring is too big. Bad quality control.

JapanBargain 1564, Chinese Chopping Knife Japanese LOVE this knife! bought a second spare. Sharp!
I've been cooking for 50 years, and I do love this knife! I've had one for several years.~~It is so sharp, and works wonderfully! I waited for 2 years for it to get a little less expensive to buy another to have as backup when the first one gets old.~So sharp! Will slice a tomato, or slice your meats like for butchering, cutting up chicken, etc. Cuts right thru the joints. Great all around knife.~Definitely recommend!
